FFXIV Benchmark

A benchmark for FFXIV has been put up on the Nvidia site, and I must say, it looks rather spiffy.

You get to choose a resolution of 1920x1080 or 1280x720 AND you get to choose the race you'd like to see the player character as in the benchmark.

The benchmark is the opening cutscene on the boat.

As far as I know, that's the only place to download it from at the moment. After clicking it it should just ask you where you'd like to save it. After looking at their site, it seems kind of like they haven't actually posted the benchmark on the site, but someone just found it hidden in their download sites files.

My score was
3701 on 1280x720
2456 on 1920x1080

I hope this is more how the beta will run, because if so, I will be fine ;p

My monitor isn't quite 1920x1080, so the high res filled my whole monitor and then some. I think it got the right score though.

3188 on High Res
4335 on Low Res

havent been able to run the benchmark yet... i just get a windows error and it kicks me out of the program... meh, ill reboot later and see if that fixes it.

will be playing on the ps3 though so not too worried about pc specs

I still haven't figured out if I'm going to build a new PC or buy a PS3 to play. Have they posted recommended specs yet? (I realize I could find this quickly in a google search, but I'm right here now, so I may as well ask.)

High Res: 1423
Low Res: 2426

Well, as soon as I see an epic low price video card that comes out swinging at the current big guns, guess I'll do some shopping.

You might need to update your DirectX, i was getting the same error until i updated and restarted my laptop.

Score 2132 @ 1080p (1920*1080)
Load Time 24492ms

Score 3061 @ 720p (1280*720)
Load Time 20838ms

No visible lag in either benchmark.
Running ffxi besides it.

Now for the other scores, mind to share the system specs?
A benchmark sais nothing if you can't compare it to the system of another person in my opinion.

I haven't tested mine but I wonder how it would do. I don't often use it, I just built it in Feb so I think it should handle it just fine.

I see it as more of a way as finding the requirements for the game and to see what boosts performance the most. Besides, it's not e-peen worthy if we're all just at the "acceptable" level according to the FFXIV site lol
Just wait until somebody with a score of 8000+ comes along!

According to the site we're just capable of running the game at the default settings, which shows just how much of a beast this game is going to be :p
