    Just wait until somebody with a score of 8000+ comes along!
    This, I never posted my system specs just to boast my system.
    I simply want to see how well the benchmark performs on a system similar to mine.

    For example in the greater lines Kailea and I run fairly similar systems, except for the graphics card.
    He's running a single GPU, I'm running a linked GPU setup. (Crossfire)
    Yet his benchmark scores considerably higher then mine.

    On another forum someone already suggested this may have been because I ran (a highly tweaked) ffxi alongside the benchmark which may have indeed taxed my system thus influenced the benchmark's scores.
    Besides that I run on a dual 1080p monitor setup too, although I am not sure how or if this influences overall performance.

    Tonight when I get home from work I'll reboot my own system and run the benchmark again while not running anything besides it except for my standard processes.
    See what it sais then, because if that doesn't change the overal score, I must be doing somthing very wrong with my system.
    Which I completely reinstalled from scratch only 2 weeks ago.

      Re: FFXIV Benchmark

      Maybe its just my laptop being horrible but every time run the benchmark it just sits at a black screen with the logo's and I hear the sound in real time but no video shows up. any ideas?

        Questions:

        Operating system? (Windows version)
        DirectX updated?
        Any other (3D or other graphical) applications running at the same time?

          Re: FFXIV Benchmark

          1. Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit for OS.
          2. DL'd the DX9 file off the link on FF14's benchmark site.
          3. Only other things running at the time was windows folder that the benchmark was in.

          Other possibly helpful things about my laptop.
          Processor: AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile TechnologyTL-58 1.90Ghz
          Windows Vista Service pack 2
          Also decided to let the thing run all the way through just listening, and got a whopping 66 at end on low version... FML

            Re: FFXIV Benchmark

            Try to reinstall DirectX in its entirety.

            As for new results as I was running XI next to the benchmark before, I have run several different tests I do have to say I see little to no difference between CrossfireX turned on or off.

            @1080p, Dual screen, Crossfire enabled:
            Score 2428

            @1080p, Single screen, Crossfire enabled:
            Score 2408

            @1080p, Single screen Crossfire disabled:
            Score 2412

                i got 4060 on 1280x720 with my phenom ii x6 @4ghz and radeon 4870.

                if i compare that to your low score it seems that the cpu wheights more then the gpu, and taht sli and crossfire are also not working.
                i might get the next ati gpu generation single gpu.

                      Re: FFXIV Benchmark

                      Re-installed the directx stuff, and still to no avail.. /sigh stupid pos laptop. now to go figure out how to get my desktop to turn back on, maybe it will do better after it does a ton of windows updates. It hasnt been on for like 2 yrs and older then my laptop, but it has a higher GHZ processor. now remember its a very very old emachines desktop but here's its specs...

                      OS: Windows XP Home edition
                      Processor: Intel Celeron D 2.66Ghz
                      Chipset: Intel 845GV
                      RAM: 256 MB (lol)
                      Graphics card: ATI Radeon 9150 series card

                      So yeah major old comp, but would upgrading to windows 7, updrading ram to 4 GB, and buying a new graphics card make this a somewhat acceptable tower? Or should I just say screw it and buy a new tower altogether for like 500-700$?

                        Comparing the second scores I posted when not running FFXI I tend to agree.
                        The most worrysome part indeed is that the score I get when not running Crossfire is about the same I get with Crossfire turned on.
                        That and the CPU going to 55% or higher when running the Benchmark only seems to support this theory even more.

                        @TGM,
                        No panties in a wad here ma'm.

                        @Kai
                        Buy a new rig if you can afford it, upgrading a celeron to support these kinds of games will cost you more then that.

                          Re: FFXIV Benchmark

                          The benchmark scored my computer at around 1000, which doesn't make any sense. The game doesn't look any better than L4D2, and definitely doesn't have more models on the screen at once. I think it's nVidia being jealous that I'm running ATI.

                            I got a 629 (LOL), which confuses me. I can run AoC with DX10, but I can't run this benchmark with DX9? lol :/

                            Oh well. Was planning on playing with the PS3, anyways. xD

                                Yeah, the test seems fairly inconsistant...

                                For instance, I'm running Core 2 Duo 3.0GHz, ATI HD4870 512MB, 6GB DDR2 RAM that I built fairly cheap in the second half of 2008 and I got around 3100 on high score and about 5000 on low score. Yet I see people with i7 Cores and GTX480's not getting as good of scores.

                                You'd be better off saving up for a new tower all together. Imo at least.
