I would never use this username in an mmorpg. It's just a username for a message board. I always use original names for mmorpgs.


I'm not defending derived name users, but I wouldn't single them out when all communities have their wide variety of names
we may not like.

But don't judge a book by its cover. That Sephiroz Valentine might be a better and more intelligent party member than that Denglen Estoofas.

but people are blowing things out of proportion. last names or not, most people aren't going to encounter those types of names often anyway.
and removing last names isn't going to make the sephirothclouds at all.

People whine too much about something that is more of a good thing, with last names, more creative people can now make more creative full names instead of merged ones.

I'm not arguing against last names, I'm arguing against the belief that last names will suddenly make people more creative. With all the bitching I've seen from people because they have to have a last name, I doubt these people will be all too 'creative' for the most part. We'll still see Xxxsephirothcloudssjnarutokurosakixxx in FFXIV, the only difference is that they'll be able to shove a space in there.

Eh, I give the benefit of the doubt to forum names/monikers as they're not supposed to be representing a character in a fantasy world like names in an MMO do.

Having said that, the irony is that my name is completely unimaginative and unoriginal as well since I use it in just about every game/forum/sign up I ever play/use and it's actually a rl nickname I had in high school. So really, I should be the last one to complain about unoriginal names.

Though it's still better a better name then the Xxxsephycloudxxx clones

Funniest moment for me was when the guy said to have green hair, and the girl says "Green?" as if she wanted to add a 'wtf?' but couldn't.

Hair highlights are nice, and I don't think I've actually seen Iris size to be independent of eye size previously. Sure, you are most likely never going to know the difference, but at least it's there.

There's also a lot of space for additional customisation areas, which I like.
