the problem is that 50% if not more of the posts in the forums, are cheesecake, food, what will you be, what race will you be, and a bunch of other topics..... complete not related to testing at all -.-

Its not that we are more vocal, but it seems we complain more that's for sure.

and not its not feed back they are giving, its out right complaining.

Well can't you report bugs other ways other than the forums?

And obviously they were talking about how NA's make more suggestions than JP.. As I recall, anyone can send in suggestions, not just beta users. So maybe they're factoring that in, not just what's on the Alpha testers forums.

Lol, it really doesn't. he went from last 10% which means it's 50% done so were at about 65%.

I think the whole, the JP's are better than us because..., situation is getting mighty old. It's like saying that a beetle that lives in the desert should eat the same stuff, act the same way, have the same breeding habits, etc as one that lives in the tropics. Well its not going to happen. We are different...get used to it and stop trying to make one feel inferior to another.

(Though anyone acting like an asshat deserves to be called out. But if people are just making genuine suggestions/comments then what is the big fucking deal?)

Not quite sure who this is aimed at, but what I think the developers are saying is that the NA players find a bug/glitch and immediately report/post/complain about it, whereas the JP players notice and 'file it away' and continue through until the test is almost over, then make a post with a list of bugs etc that they have found.

Just two different methods of saying the same thing. If my hypothesis is correct, there'll probably be a big spike of JP postings at the end whereas NA will stay level with what they have been doing presently.

Anyway, that's how I read into it.

Yes it's absolutely terrible for people to discuss issues with a game. I mean feedback like this could lead to insights about things in the game that need to be adjusted. We certainly wouldn't want that!

People complain. People discuss things. It's human nature and making a big deal about it is asinine.

As long as they're complaining and documenting the problems and sending them to SE, they can complain all they want.

If they're treating it like a demo, complaining and not sending feedback to SE, they can kindly bow out and let someone who can do the job take over.

I dont have a problem with discussion of game mechanics and to talk about whats wrong with them, but like I said in the other forums, there is a big difference in feedback/discussion, and whining/bitching.

There are problems with the game yes, but a lot of them are only because it an early build of the game, things that can not be helped at this current time, and there for dont need 10 threads about them.

Take for instance, there where some people complaining about character creation, that it was very limited..... when SE said from day one that what we have now is just a place holder -.-

Wow, I'm agreeing with Kailea. This can't be a good sign...

Anyway, a lot probably has to do with the maturity level too. You have to be 18 to be a beta tester, but likely less than half the NA testers are 18. That might also be the case in Japan, but people there are usually more respectful, and probably post less nonsense, and immature posts than the NA testers. Sorry if this seems stereotypical, but we all know its true. NA's in general, are whiny spoiled bitches. For every passionate FF fan who got into alpha there are 3 assholes who could care less, and just want to play it early.

I don't think its so much that the Japanese players are more respectful or thoughtful as it is a case of "the nail that sticks out must be hammered down." The whole culture has a history of being self repressed. This is the place where business men HAVE to spend time after work drinking/hanging w/ their coworkers/boss or their not part of the team and their prospects are diminished. Subvert your own will to the will of your boss, or your coworkers, or your family, or whatever.

Its in the language, too. They'll spend five sentences dancing around an issue in order to avoid seeming critical, being oblique and self deprecating in order to avoid giving offense. Many English speakers, on the other hand, generally get to the point. What may seem upfront to us can be considered rude to them. Just differences in culture.
