    Some of those mobs are just deliciously creepy. I have friends who were always creeped out by simple things like Diremites and Spiders, but some of those mobs just take it to the next level.

                      Beta 1 is the closed beta, aka Phase 1. Then it shifts to Phase 2, the open beta where the changes suggested in Alpha and Phase 1 will be implemented and both platforms will be up & running. At the moment Tanaka is unsure if the PS3 client will make it in time for Phase 1.

                          Phase 2 can't be open beta...this is where they introduce the PS3 to the beta, and where they will implement and monitor all the changes from alpha feedback. That means a lot of downtime and random restarts of the servers. That goes against the very idea of open beta.

                          And SE has specifically called open beta...open beta. Not phase 2.

                            A little something I noticed in the manual..
                            * The Alpha/Beta versions contain only a fraction of what is planned in the full version. This includes playable races and clans, character
                            customization options, selectable classes, and available areas, to name a few.
