But I don't qualify male and female counterparts as additional races O.o.. as Kailea pointed out BREAKING THE NDA I JUST NOTICED!!!

SE have already said themselves that they aren't in the alpha, so Kailea saying so isn't breaking the NDA.

I'd take all of these new jobs with a pinch of salt. If people start expecting all those jobs to be available when the game launches I think there's going to be a lot of disappointed people. They could be many things, wrong assumptions over the acronyms, possible classes that were scrapped, placeholders for the future, etc.

Hell, they're even using 4chan as a source of information, and believing it. I'd never trust anything I found there.

Maybe some of it will turn up to be correct, who knows. But until SE announces something I wouldn't take anything as gospel.

No, Tanaka & Komoto confirmed that the models were finished in a Famitsu interview quite a while back.

With this job info, it comes right from dat mined info off of BG itself, who's usually very accurate with their info. It's also not just the abbreviations and speculations from them, the weapons in the dats are listed in the same order and clearly mention each class by name. On top of that, there are actually active guilds in the Alpha build for some of these classes, so we do know at least some of them will be in the game at some point.

SE said way back that jobs will be added via updates in XIV as opposed to expansions ala XI. It's more then likely that SE is just pre-loading the class's base infrastructure into the game now to make it easier to just add them in later.

Because of some Famitsu translations, it's not entirely clear what people mean by: Female Miqo'te are playable, male Miqo'te are not playable but they exist.

Some people are assuming they are only NPCs, I guessed so, but NO where does it confirm that, as far as most know they are just not playable in this test.

Its more of people's wishful thinking, Male Miqo'te will not be playable at all, they are only NPCs -.- some people just don't want to adept it.

I dont have a problem with people wanting to play male Mithra/ Miqo'te, but its silly that people want it so bad, they are seeing things that just are not there.

If they added it, that would be cool, but SE has shown how they want their game to be, and thats to have one race female only and one race male only, with the other three having both.

The in-game models have been finished for some time however in the same interview they explained that they hadn't yet decided on how (or even if) they would be used.

So it's very possible they will be NPC onry (hope not though)

Miqo'te aren't even playable in the Alpha, and I read somewhere that only 1/2 the character creation will be available in the beta compared to retail so knows they could still surprise us ^_^

I think they've basically said it's too much work at this point to fit them in all the gear in the game and give them their own unique animations like the others, so they might be present in the world, but not choosable, and probably only located outside of Eorzea.

That excuse only works for FFXI, with XIV, there's no such thing as 'too much work' when it comes to making new races as it's all being done at the same time. They went out of their way to differentiate the differences between male and female Lalafell, and went so far as to give Highlanders a completely different model then midlanders, so the 'too much work' excuse doesn't work all that well.

Having said that, SE has been very coy on the concept of new races/genders. At this point it's a dumb idea not to add male cat boys seeing as so many people are crying about it. But who knows what SE has up their sleeves. I mean, no one expected the extra classes that were found in the dats to even be a possibility, so who knows what surprises they'll pull with races. SE loves to make their big reveals, and we have plenty of time before now and the game's actual release for them to drop tons of bombs on us.

I dont think they used that excuse this time, its just SE is set, and likes their distribution of race/gender and they dont want to change it.
