Introduction:

Hello,

I am the leader of a new link shell called Equinox. I come from a long line of MMO's spanning from EQoA, EQ2, WoW, and most recently Aion. I have always played and been a leader in top end guilds and wish to continue to do so here. With that said I am looking for like minded players.

Equinox's Mission Statement:

Equinox is a progression-oriented hardcore Final Fantasy XIV raiding guild comprised of some of the world's best players from other raid-centric MMOs. We are driven to be the best, and we will push ourselves to down new content as quickly as possible. Even when we fail to down a boss first, we will continue to push ourselves to win so we can better prepare ourselves to take down the next boss.

Equinox's Expectations:

Dedication - We expect but do not demand your time and dedication to the guild as a whole. We do not demand this because if you do not wish to give the time and dedication needed to succeed, this is not the guild for you.

Respect - This one is very important, not only do you need to respect Equinox as a guild, but you must respect your fellow members and the community of FFXIV as a whole. We take pride in our reputation and anyone willing to tarnish this will be subject for removal.

No Drama - Drama has no place in Equinox. If you're a drama queen, you may want to consider broadway, not this guild.

No Greed - Greed is an evil word, and a word that will never be welcome in Equinox. If you're only looking out for yourself, then you may want to find a new place to do it. Do not let greed cloud your judgment.

And above all else, enjoy yourself! This is why we made the guild and play the game in the first place.

We feel that this is a unique opportunity for anyone interested in being a part of a guild of extremely talented individuals on the ground level, before we fill up on the classes we need and slow down our recruitment.

How is this weird? lol We're trying to get our name out there before the game starts and possibly get some quality applicants. From what I have seen, there are many guilds recruiting and getting recruits from a month or more ago.

Yea, it is all too much too soon. My LS plans to move as one to the new game when it starts, so that we actually don;t really do any thing like this lol.

Its cool that people are willing to start up guilds/whatever before the game stats when no one even knows how guilds even work lol

While I respect your opinion, I would have to disagree. Guilds are in every mainstream MMO and while we do not know all of the facts, one thing is for sure; guilds or linkshells will be in FFXIV.

As far as being too soon, I would again have to disagree, my personal play style is to start up front, end up front. Thats just me, and fortunatley for me I have found many people, some I've been friends with for years, who feel the same way I do. All this post is really for, are those who share my common goals and interest.

Yes you have your opinion as well, but really?..... We know hardly anything about the game, and how it will work, let alone how "endgame" will be, and you trying to recruiting people for a guild/linkshell (hell we don't even know what this will be called) with lines like this?

Really? when the games comes out, no one will get to endgame for a bit, and if your goal is to get your group to endgame the fastest and be the best, before you even know of what the game will be about......that is just a little silly.

Just because we may not hit end game for quite some time does not mean our members can not be dedicated to the guild/ls. There will be content in between the begining and end im fairly certain about.

At this time you can more or less think of us as a community for like minded players, with intent on being the best, yes.

You may not hit end game for a while, but you will eventually. Then you may decide you don't like it, then close the LS all together if you quit, and leave those that where in the LS all left behind int he dust, and with out a leader.

Why not wait until you know what the game is about, what type of guild system there is, then make a guild/whatever it may be. Or even wait until you find out what end game actually is in the game before doing so if you want it to be end game oriented.

As for the dedication thing, are you saying that you can only be part of that one guild? Thats lame. I am pat of three other shells, and I am dedicated to them all. Everyone in the others, are dedicated as well, even though they may be in ones of their own as well.

True, but then there are people of like mind who will be looking for exactly this kind of guild. Not me of course, that's why we're part of S12. But there's plenty of folks out there that like to go full steam into it and bust head first into end game.

yeah your right, its just not our thing, I will say more power to the OP though, hope to see um in endgame, tearing through mobs like the power house he will be ;p
