Hi, I used to play FFXI on 360 a few months ago (name was Meshuggah on Cerberus) and I decided I really want to get back into 11. The only problem is, 14 is right around the corner. I was told 11 would be shut down when 14 was released, and well... If theyre going to do that, theres no point in my wasting money on a 360 when I could save for the PS3 and play 14. What do you guys think? Oh and if this is in the wrong discussion forum could a mod fix it so I get it right? thanks!

When I started back in 2006 people we're telling me the sky is falling in vana diel.
The game wont shut down when 14 comes out. Not everybody will meet the requirements to play the game so many will stay where they are.
People that can afford to play both will do so and not everyone will have 14 meeting the ideals they are holding now.
Bear in mind just because it's the next final fantasy mmorpg doesn't mean it will be a success.
