Anyone actually downloaded it yet?

i escalated to a warrior from a fighter already (you can do this by equipping a lighthand axe (DPS:7) and wearing some iron armor), but some mobs are tough as shit, those bio-rabbits down in the magigenerator underneath potos are really quite something. as they said it's possible to solo but i think if i were to start lfp i might get through this dungeon quicker, so you should all download and play and join my guild, i will give you all some gp to buy stuff from the npc and we can go on quests together!!

edit: the download is like the windows update packager, it runs and then downloads additional stuff from the server lolz


the built in gambit system allowz u to skill up afk

ingame screenshots, spoiled because they break tables, i play in 2560p, NOT 56K FRIENDLY

I went through the survey quite a few times, but each time I followed through the link, it gave me an invalid download error, so I don't know.

I was actually just looking to see what it would give if anybody /could/ download it, but I guess the file is invalid.

The website you download it from seems legit, truthfully, but it's a fileshare type of site -- where you have to fill out a survey to get the file, and you get paid for the surveys that are filled out for your file.

I just lol at the website, because it tracks your IP address and says that "If the information is determined to be a prank, your IP will be banned". As if THAT ever stops anyone.

He's been outed on FFXIVcore, here by Spazz and Destructoid by me. My blog link leads right to the D-Toid bit, but he also made his own blog post there about it to spread "the truth" which no one is willing to buy.

So that's three online communities - who wants to throw him to the wolves on BG?

I take it the cell phone scam wasn't working out like they had hoped it would, they changed from a blog type site to linking directly to the 'download.'

The site is 'legit' in the fact that it does seem that they pay their uploaders, at least most of the time. They get their money as a e-mail harvesting service however.

Yeah, well, I am the owner of arinoru.net, and I run MySQL and PHP, and I have a software download on my site that has, uh, nothing at all to do with FFXIV. And if you look real hard you might find some screenshots of FFXI. ...way off in some of the user webspaces.

This is more sad than anything, really. If we're gonna keep this thread alive for 'research' than I think I'll just take the opportunity to remind our viewers of this note from the Computers section: Dreams in Vanadiel - Final Fantasy XI Forum - Announcements in Forum : Computers -- especially important if you actually visit such a scam site for more hands-on sort of research.
