Not getting kicked out just because people wanna know what the game's like. A closed beta is actually a lot more work than some people realize. It's not just a chance to try at the game, it's a serious attempt to weed out bugs and give vital feedback to the developers. That having been said I will laugh my ass off if I see anyone banned by SE.
Dude, I'm in game development, I know how important NDA's and alpha/beta stages are to the company especially when they are still in the middle of core development. But you are foolish if you think people will keep their lips sealed.
One thing I noticed about you and Kailea is that you guys seem to get so riled up over small things that don't matter in the whole scheme of things. You guys need to lighten up a bit.

its not that I think people will follow the NDA, because they wont -.- but what I am saying is that I will, why? Because I am always sincere and honest about anything I do, when I am payed or given something to do.
If I am asked to keep something to myself, I will do my best to do so.

*ties blankies together to form a net* It will be tricky to catch any informative leaks before they are removed! But mgiht as well catch as much as possible.

I certainly agree. If I were in I'd probably only tell my girlfriend (as she lives in the same house as me, so it'd be hard to keep something like that a secret). But nothing to threaten the integrity of the project. Anyway, people need not get so angry about others that prioritise themselves over the contract - I am sure Square have something set in place to restrict the information outlfow from these kinds of people, or that the initial stages of the beta only allow for so much information that they are willing to just let it slip through.

Maybe SE doesn't mind a bit of beta "advertising" since it will get people interested and possibly sell games in retail. Maybe they don't mind a certain amount being posted, granted as long as its positive.

But I mean I do not mind a good looking man so long as I do not have to view his penis.

God I hate my periods. You think passing a clot through a vagina is bad? Try it with a penis.

...I'm shitting dicks out of my eyeballs in excitement for the next bestgreating game of all time ever.
Considering that Square-Enix has done the majority of their testing for FFXI internally or with paid professionals, I doubt that this beta will actually allow us to see anything or do much beyond a bit of focused stability in certain areas. SE are extremely good at releasing content that actually works with minimal issues or usually none at all, and any FFXI player knows they are extremely hush about everything and like to talk crypticly.
Its always been down to the player that must figure it all out themselves, and not by some beta leaked video that shows you how to do everything before release with strategies and tactics...{you know what MMO I'm talking about allows that} anyway...
and gamers today need to remember that this is a MMORPG, not a solo RPG....... -.-
Developers also need to remember that they aren't solo games as well. Like most "MMO"RPGs out there now. A LOT of them are solo based, and involve NO need for a party of any sort.

and thats why I hate the kiddy MMOs like WoW they defeat the whole purpose of the term MMORPG

ya that's true, that killed mmorpgs like Age of Conan for many people. I think that is the case with Champions Online too since there's like almost no reason to party.
Ya I wouldn't want it to be lonely, but I just hate it getting stuck in mmorpg where the only way to get worthwhile rate of XP and loot is in a party, and your favorite job might not be able to solo well.
And there is so few good solo spots without robbing parties of XP.
I think with FFXIV guildleves, they might offer both options, but initially, partying will be more doable since the first year and stuff, everyone is on the same level, so it will be easier to form parties and discover things together and do things together instead of doing things alone, with a wiki walkthrough guide on the side. >_>
but ya I think partying won't be a factor for this first generation, but ya SE should still think of later adventurers that may arrive when the majority are on top and rarely do the bottom stuff. Maybe people will be more independant and strong than in FFXI, but in FFXIV, I'm sure there will be
just as many reasons to party, especially after launch.
