    I don't know about you guys, but after FFXI, I kill every bunny in any video game on-sight.

    Even if they're totally defenseless.

    I shot every level 1 bunny I saw in WoW. I killed bunnies in MGS3 for food. Yum.

        Note that you can see 2 chat windows, but I have 2 more tabs of windows "layered" underneathy. There are a lot of things that I like to see, but don't need to see immediately. For instance: I like to backlog and see if my Bard is even casting Carnage Elegy or not. Now imagine if that stuff were tucked away in a tab underneath? I can customize what's in those tabs, name them, and choose how many I want.

        Also: note that I run with my map up all the time despite it being a non-default setting and still have tons of screen space.

          Lmnop, is it just me or does your character have a heart on his bum?

          Anyway I do like NCSoft's approach to chat logs. You can have multiple tabs in a resizable window which you can define all of the filters on. You can also split the tabs off into their own separate window, i.e a small one for xp/rewards you can put in the corner. It's a pretty good system.

          FFXI really annoys me that you can't split your damage from your party members. I.e I would like to be able to see my damage in the chat log but other people's above the head of the mob. Currently if you filter out other's damage and set the display to show in the chat log or on screen you'll only get your own damage. There's no middle ground.

          However I do really appreciate the option to set the background colour of your chat log. Some people really don't like the obsession with transparancy effects on everything, sometimes it makes reading the text quite hard.

            And btw, CoH also lets you choose transparency of your windows as well as giving you complete RGB control over the color scheme. Also, I don't play WoW but I've heard they give loads of UI customization options.

            The end result is a simple truth: if you think FFXI is sufficient, you just haven't seen what the other guys can do.

              I knew you could change the colour in CoH/CoV but they seem to have left it out of Aion.

              Not my sshot btw just the first one I found but I think it proves the point. Yes the text area gets a little darker when you put your mouse over it but it doesn't improve it that much. Other MMOs I've looked at recently have this same problem. They want to make the chat log as transparent as possible so that it doesn't obstruct your view. That's great but it's at the expense of readability. I hope Squenix doesn't follow this trend in 14.

                    I dunno dude.. I think this last convention was the last of '09.. But I could be wrong..

                              OH cool I miss Coh at times.
                              I used to play on the Union server as a fire/Kinetics controller called Tristessa.
                              Their user interface was pretty simple and customiseable.
                              the chat boxes were the only problem really or the little bleeps when someone speaks to you. lol
