        Star Trek MMO should have been like one starship per server, it would have been more immersive that way with a fully explorable starship populated by players, intead of everyone being the captain of their own ship. oh well it's only for PC so it really doesn't matter.

          That sounds more like a big Star Trek Avatar related chat room. Rather than one ship I'd say there should be a fleet that holds a certain amount of people, but I guess that wouldn't work because you'd probably have to wait for somebody to quit in order for there to be a new captain or to move up in rank... Unless the ranking officers were all NPCs, then that would be kinda different as well.

            but you see, I think the rank of Captain and Commander should remain NPC controlled.

            The starship would go to different worlds like planned events, and players can sign up to join an Away Team (there can
            be multiple teams to explore the planet. And the starship would stay there for about 1 real-time month before it moves to
            another planet.)

            Inbetween planet exploration, there could be space battles and stuff to do in the starship. and players can try out
            different roles, like medical or engineering or whatever. It could stay true to the franchise, and overall I think that
            would be a much more authentic experience. a Star Trek mmo shouldn't be always about fighting and especially not about
            materialistic gain. And especially nothing todo with money since the Federation isn't based on money. That's why humans
            were able to get that far with space exploration because they used a harmonious system that benefits all without needing
            to depend on things like capitalism.

            ah well the road not taken... it looks like an interesting mmorpg but I prefer FFXI and FFXIV.

                ya it could work! I mean I dunno the exact measurements of a Star Trek starship but it sure is big enough to house 1,000 players, and with so many rooms and uses and things to do that it's like a world in itself.

                Wheee I would so love to ride the NXG elevators in first person!

                  The way the game is being made is perfect for it, your idea would make it fail -.- and Star Trek Online is planed for the 360 as well, not just PC

                    hahahahaha! Cryptic couldn't even convince Microsoft to make Champions Online happen on 360, how will they make Star Trek Online happen? MS has shut themselves away from any future mmorpgs.

                        well ya, though I wouldn't count as MS, by the time FFXIV appears on 360, everyone in FFXIV on PS3 and PC will be level capped/endgame
