I was kinda thinking that water was gonna be used for something this tiime too. If they can't conquer the complex mechanic that is jumping I wouldn't hold out much hope for swimming or any other interaction with water beyond dipping a fishing rod in it.Comment

Yeah, they're totally comparable.If they can't conquer the complex mechanic that is jumping I wouldn't hold out much hope for swimming or any other interaction with water beyond dipping a fishing rod in it.

There's no difference between water and land, in a video game. The mechanics may differ somewhat to preserve a sense of realism, but in essence they're the exact same thing. You, as the player, are simply a camera, a point of view. You're represented by a model which cycles through different animations depending on what you're doing. Walking, running, and swimming are all animations. Games these days often employ a more fluid mechanic for swimming, but it's basically the same thing.
Jumping isn't much different.Comment
