They are. Tanaka addressed this in one of the very 1st interviews, FFXIV will be fully broadband so no more 56k cap.

This interview was pointless. Why bother with it when they are going to ask all the questions that were already asked and find out all the same information we already know?

The only interesting tidbit is that "seamless" was a mistranslation, so FFXIV will still have zones. They'll just be bigger. Yay?
WTH is your problem? One of the biggest complaints about XI is how everyone looks the same, wearing the same gear. Now we can actually customize the looks of our equipment! Trivial? Maybe, but it adds a new level of fun to crafting.

        Fully customizable as in looks.

Color and pattern changes aren't "full" customization. Your scale mail is going to look the same as the rest of your party, but yours will be green and theirs will probably all be as dark black as possible because BLACK IS THE MOST AWESOMEST ARMOR COLOR EVER.

Nah, green is the best color! (Favourite color lol) Black will be over used just like it is in GW lol.

Yeah I was thinking black armor and weapons too, but I am hoping you can mix colors too. Like If I want the whole chest piece to be black except for the abs, that'd be cool.

I normally like to use the default colors, and just change a little something to a darker shade or black, or white depending on the item.

If possible my armor will probably look something like this (or at least the color combination.)

Re: Dengeki - Interview with Tanaka and Komoto

This interview has more than slightly changed my opinion of buying this game. I haven't had time to fully examine the pieces of the game that are out yet on the net but this here has provided me with more than enough insight to the game. Part of the reason may be because since I haven't played many MMORPGs as others, that could be the reason why this one is sounding so good at the moment. I don't have past experiences to compare it to, although I never compare games to each other, I just take what I can get and see where it brings my opinions.

My opinion (and yeah this will most likely be bashed within the next 28 hours)--- When you played many RPGs of all types, to include turn based, real time, strategy, also adding in different weapon systems and town operations, sooner or later you'll be thinking to yourself, this kinda reminds me of so and so game mix with so and so other game. I'm all for the limit of how many solo Guidleves one can solo because that just gives me time to work on other aspects of the game such as blacksmithing, etc...

Regarding that whole Aetheryte thing, it sounds like their integrating the whole point map system with an actual world map to where you can say *hey I wanna go to this town so let's point and click* as to *damn I gotta run all the way there from such and such town or dungeon*.

Hopefully they add in some type of voice-acting because there was times in FFXI where I wish there was voices in them.

Auto-attack thingy majingy bah who cares, I played plenty of other games where I had to do every action plus dodge, plus heal other pt members and such so this is just another one of those games.

As for the broken weapon part thing, ever played Dark Cloud? There was times where I wouldn't have that one item to repair it and had to walk all the way back to town to repair it and stock up, so it doesn't really hurt me playing at all.

                          Final Thoughts
                          Looks good to me..

You haven't been keeping up with all the info have you? There will be full voice acting for the major story related cinemas in English only. Tanaka said this is because of the time & cost involved with having to re-do every track in multiple languages which would delay version updates greatly (TAKE THAT NON-ENGLISH SPEAKING PEOPLES!!! .... just kidding, but still )

                            Personally there were several things announced either in here or elsewhere I'm super happy about;

Monsters actually react to players now. Instead of just blindly dogging you until one of you dies, if a mob sees you coming with your weapon out it will run away from you. I actually didn't catch on to this until I listened to the 2nd Aetheryte Radio Podcast (they're long but very good, highly recommend them) however.

The other thing is thank Christ we are finally getting direct town warps. When I first played XI I was all excited to explore the world and run from San d'Oria to the other cities but it gets old fast. Even now the best we can do is teleport or OP (damn am I ever glad I snagged Sarta & Gustaberg back during inflation when we all swapped starting areas on Seraph) and it still takes too long IMO. Bastok is especially bad, even with the new WotG shortcut. Honest to God why did SE have to put the OP so far away from town...

They better let us ride chocobos however. Yes, we can use Aetheryte to warp to quest sites, but with the zones now being the same size as entire Regions in XI (as well as Aetheryte travel being limited in use) what happens if I need to go revive someone who's halfway across the map or what have you? Hopefully we will see a return of XI's outposts spread out through the region, possibly with chocobo stables at each in case you need to move further into the area.
Or they could just warp you directly to where you need to be within that region when you start the quest but that kinda takes the fun out of it a little depending on just how far you'd need to go. Plus it's just not FF if you can't ride a chocobo! (Excluding FF1)

kinda reminds me of Breath of Fire Dragon Quarter except some of the mobs was running towards you and you had to initiate battle first or else they get the preemptive strike..
