He's a genius. But it seems that he wants the game to be so close to RL that he can literally lead another life in this world.

Um, no, he's an idiot and I don't think he's ever considered what goes into making a video game in his entire life.

Haven't read much, but from the 1st article: favored climate = NO. Eventually, the hottest exp spots will be found, and everyone will set their favored climate to whatever the best exp spot's climate is for increased performance. In all things, people need to see how a player community will try to abuse it for maximum benefit.

I liked most of his ideas. Except for the part where NPC's are in different areas depending on day or what's going on. That'd get annoying to go to vendor that may decided to leave and now you gotta wait or go find them.

Biut everything else isn't such a bad idea though. This would take a lot of time to put all those into a game and I know that. But if you got 5 years or so, you can make a game as immersible as he is talking about.

But like I also said, it seems like he wants one so immersive that he can feel so connected to the game that it could be his second life.

I love it when someone acts as if they think they can speak for everyone, it tends to get them in trouble. This blogger couldn't design a better MMO if he wanted to.

honestly, pretty much any of us can write down exactly what we want in a game, and most people will agree with it. There's nothing special about it, just that most of us don't spend our time writing down ideas.

We all have different opinions on how we want our games to be of course. Just like with any opinion, no one has to agree, and then there's tons of people who would agree with him. But that's just how everything is when it comes to ideas.

I mean mostly everything starts with one persons idea with a few people criticizing while others join in and help create more ideas along with the original.

Maybe some of us should. There's no telling what could happen after you do.

                        Yeah, other than basically nothing.

Really, where have you been? SE. Does not. Listen.

What, you need to tell SE about your ideas? How about another company? Or how about trying to create your own game? Find people with similar ideas and you can get the ball rolling. It has to start somewhere, right?

Pretty much this, save for the few sadists among us (like the idiots I was PT with in the dunes last night) who think Luck is a sign of skill/determination and actually enjoy the games more horrendous time sinks....

The leader actually argued with me that I apparently didn't want the V-Bow or other items like emp. hairpin bad enough because I gave up camping them after going 0/12 on hairpin with my Th3 THF and outright refusing to camp a 16-34 hour window NM who has a single PH on a 16 min respawn...

As if somehow I'm less of a man because I didn't want to waste hours upon hours of my life camping 1 virtual monster for a 10% shot at an item. oh noes! I could kick Eastern Shadow's ass from 1 end of Vana'diel to the other but I'm not sitting there for over 8+ hours for a chance of fighting an NM for yet another chance of getting an item.
