TGM you are talking to someone whose back is KILLING her because she hasn't sat up straight for more than three hours in perhaps the past two years, and had to sit up straight for nine hours today.

And I actually have a 'burn' mark on my leg from my laptop, as long as I wear pants it doesn't bother me to put the laptop on my lap, but the heat from my laptop is also definitely a problem. I've just gotten so lazy, I can't even sit up and use it. Right now, I'm lying on my bed, and i do mean lying with my knee propped up and the laptop resting against it. Most comfortable Dynamis position ever.

I actually don't mind the FFXI interface aside from the learning curve(read:"brick wall") and a few things with the targeting system.

the targeting indicator should be changed. a bunch of triangles spinning in a circle on top of characters and monsters doesn't look right. It feels like a mega man legends game with that obstructive type of targeting indicator.

FFXI's targeting indicator was smart and didn't get in the way of the visuals.

It really depends on the scale of the combat though. On a busy screen* that kind of cursor could be a life saver.

Maybe they could make it switch from one mode to the other depending on the amount of characters on the screen. And make different versions available so you can choose the cursor/mode that goes better with your playstyle.




*Like when I'm tanking 5 mobs in Campaing while another 10 people keep waking them up without actually getting hate off me.

well actually based on the videos, they don't aggro, so they might be peaceful enemies like Sheep. I mean they aren't
enemies, well, they will be listed in the Bestiary like the enemies.
Well I guess they can simply be called optional-peaceful-pinatas-that-people-will-bash-open-anyway.

Neither does a Great Sword that's 6 inches wide. In other words, highly subjective. And MML is an awesome game.

It pains me to say it but Raydeus is right. Multi-mob battles require clear and unmistakable target identification. Tabbing through mobs in FFXI is not cool in situations where there's a high concentration of mobs in one place. It's the very fact that it's highly unintrusive visually that makes it a pain for those purposes.

My old bones won't allow those type of positions for extending periods of time! LOL I get migraines from lying on my side typing/gaming. And I know what you mean about burns! I have a fused spine and I've lost some feeling in my right leg because of it. Shortly after getting my Alienware I sat with it on my lap for quite a while, forcing myself to endure the heat. Little did I know that the grill over the fan was resting on my right thigh and when I got up I had a silver dollar sized blister on my leg from the damn thing. Now I use a lap board religiously! And there's nothing wrong with being lazy, as long as you are ambitious when you need to be! LOL

Yeah that's the problem, I didn't need to be until recently. I was the most happy stay at home mother in the world, then my husband became my ex and my mom turned into a ginormous bitch.

No idea. You will have to check the website, but I don't see why not. My friends cable was only standard S&H.

One thing to note is that FFXI used its own system, this time Final Fantasy XIV is going to be seamless. No zoning!

Sounds like it will be "instanced" like the current Fay weapon fights are.
