It appears the Gladiator has GREAT options for even normal attacks

Red Lotos: Most Damage (Red Lotus looks way different, so it's not the same weaponskill besides being red.)
"All around hit" (Circle Blade?): AoE (a very different looking AOE attack from Circle Blade's more earth style.)
Provoke: Distraction
Long distance shot: Largest range ( I guess this hints some skills learned from other Jobs can carry over.)
Shield block: Damage reduction (whee!)
Sword thrust: precise Attack (YES!! MORE regular attack styles)
Sword slash: strong Attack (YES! this combined with Sword Thrust, grants us control if we want strong attacks or more accurate attacks! it isn't exactly Chrono Cross attacking but it sure is a major improvement over just totally depending on equips and random criticals in XI. )
it seems shield block, sword thurst and sword slash can't be active at the sametime. if people want to tank, they'll
stick with provoke and shield block most likely. It feels like FFXIV's battles will be more dynamic with more useful
abilities and roles in battle.
Anyone glad the HP/MP bars are side by side instead of stacked? Now we can notice our party members' MP much better.
It looks like in the 2nd video the guy moved the info bar abit beside the compas in the lower left in corner, so it's good that "thought" of customizing the screen is there.
Also, looked like on the magics video, which I didn't see no magics, was that thing at the very bottom the macro list or a spell list spread out?

the Lalafell was holding a staff, so that list is definitely at least some spells.
Looks like Square learned a thing or two, 'cuz they're giving us shit to do in combat that isn't stare at the screen after popping Bergressor. Hooray for AoE skills, too.

I like how its stacked on top of each other. It takes less room, and you can tell what the persons MP is very easily. Idk why you think it was a bad idea to stack them. I hope that they are stacked like they where in FFXI.
As for the customation. I did see some one move something. idk what it was, but it will be nice to customize the UI.

Err need to correct what I said. This is the Alpha build, but like the 13 demo, its actually a bit old. So the game has already progressed further than this!
Spinning scythe does crap damage compared to most other scyth WS.
Yes, but see, Spinning Scythe costs the same TP as Guillotine.
Circle Blade 2.0 doesn't have to do OMGDMG. If its cost to use is low enough and/or it can be reused with a decent frequency, that's all that's needed for it to be a useful attack.

I know. I was just pointing out how that most Melee AoE skills are crap. If it does a decent amount of damage and its... "cool down" is low enough, it will be a useful skill. Especially if it will be many on many like what I have been hearing.
