see that's why I would never craft at launch because there's no telling where the real money will be at ( long term) when things settle down. It would help the ones that took the right path to make a fortune, but those who chose the wrong craft either go insane after they find out there's no great profits in it or just brush off the wasted effort and just start skilling up the crafts that are the best. Though blacksmith sounds like it will be valuable for repairiing weapons, though how easy/cheap it is to do so remains to be seen. Buying back up weapons might be cheaper.

thats why I wont try to make money, but help sustain what ever class or classes I might be leveling all the way, thats all I really care about

It will have to depend on when the game comes out. Then I will decide what to do. When it does come out though. I'll be walking around and kiling random stuff/talking to NPCs like most newbs do.

Not sure! I think I'll just ... enjoy. That's what I did with XI, and that's what I did with WoW. Just entered the world, became Aksannyi the Hume RDM/Aksannyi the Undead Priest, and just lived it. Enjoyed it. Became a part of it.

There's no telling where Aksannyi will go or what she'll do. She's just going to live in Eorzea and go where the world takes her.

You and everyone else.. I hope they don't do the PC 1st then PS3 3 months later release like they did with FFXI. That way we all have to suffer and figure shit out on our own.

SE already said it was going to be a world wide simotaniouse release for both

Besides if they did that it would come out on PS3 first and PC second, that's how it was with FFXI. FFXI was designed and made for PS2 then ported to PC.... that's why is sucks so bad on the "using system resources" department.

Well as I recall waay back before FFXI beta started, in my gamepro magazine, it said it was supposed to be released as a PS2 release(yes then got ported to PC) then they held it off and then released the PC version first. Ticked me off..

Yes but I am talking about the original FFXI release in Japan was for PS2, then ported to PC, in US we got the PC first, then PS2

But this time around, not only will everyone get FFXIV at the same time, but its being developed for Both PS3 and PC in mind, so FFXIV will run perfect on PCs, unlike FFXI.

I'd be SO effing pissed if they did this. But, its a simotanous release so we all will start on the same page. My PC can run FFXI (at 80% Usage though lol), so I HIGHLY doubt I will be able to play it on my pc, so I gotta get it for my PS3. It will also give me a use for my HD tv lol.

But, when the game does finally come out, I will be in college so idk how much time I will get to play it lol.

I'm going to use the most obscure gear I can think of and see what job/skills I end up with.

I'm thinking first maybe run around for 3 months equipping no weapon except Bomb-Arms. Once I get tired of spending dough on those, I'll switch over and become the master of the boomerang. Oh, did I mention I'll be completely useless?

I got friends in college and work that manage to play a buttload of WoW.

It is so easy to spend all of your college time playing MMOs instead of going to class/doing homework. I actually skipped class for Nidhogg windows when I was up for A. Body. (Luckily we got it from Odin before I really screwed up my studies.)

You'll have about 12-16 hours of class a week probably, all the other time is yours, and in an immersive environment like FFXI or WoW, it's really easy to lose track of time and party for six hours the night before you have an assignment due.
