What do you plan to DO in FFXIV?

I plan to explore a lot! I'll travel to every city,every mountains, every forest, every cavern. I want to explore that massive world and help,guide people in Eorzea.

I'll just need an Axe, some healing spells and some good gear and i'm all set!

If there's anything resembling Campaign I'll probably go with that when I'm high enough. Will also do quests, lots of quests. But can't really say for sure until I get my hands on it.

Back in the days of FFXI release, there was peace and calming exploration and grouping. There was no "You fucking noob!" anywhere... because everyone was new and still learning. We didnt have tons of guides online to tell us exactly where to go and for what. Alot of people just asked around and got the answer.

I personally would love to be a person who gathered as much information as possible to help guide others.

Otherwise... Where there is a battle... I will be there!

I missed the first 4 years of FFXI, so this is exciting!

I'll start playing FFXIV at launch!

I would try to explore the town and maybe meet up with others who wanna explore together and discover things together. No matter what LS I joined in FFXI, I always felt left out and distant besides the times they help do lower level stuff.

And it just got the the point where I didn't want to grind anymore even though there was about 15 levels to go, so I never reached a cap for any job because I kept changing Jobs and I never experienced leveling up to be so difficult since it was my first mmorpg (PSO was my first online game but that doesn't count since that was designed for 100% soloing and it was really just a dungeon hack.) So I quit and later returned, started over because they couldn't recover my first one. And then set it aside again, and I sold my 360 after the first signs it would get the rings again, and then my ps2 almost doesn't work anymore (keep radiators away from harddrives!), so even if I wanted to go back and do something, it seems XI is now not an option.

But now I feel more ready for any grind there is, and with everyone starting from scratch, there
are more possibilities, more cooperation and less people standing around idle looking bored because they've done mostly everything 100 times and don't feel like helping anyone besides pointing people to some Wiki website.

if anything one of the things I'll plan to do is, well besides get used to the controls and interace and checking any necessary
chat filters and customization, is find like minded people that want to do everythng as a full group (not a static, but just do things together as long as we are online at the moment. I don't like committing to a static, because that restricts people
from playing at their own pace. Not progressing because A, B or C are not online is time wasted.)

So yea, there will be so much to do together.

There's a 95% chance I won't let another MMO devour my free time after FFXI.

Should that 5% occur I would likely do the same things as in FFXI. Mission battles.

I will do what I did first in FFXI, explore, also I will get into a craft alot sooner then I did in FFXI -.- paying for not doing so now, by being pretty much broke.

I love the irony of this. One of the first things I did in FFXI was pour all my income into taking Bonecrafting to 50 and then Smithing to 60. Then I realized both crafts were insanely fucking expensive and didn't leave me absolutely any profits despite how high I'd taken them.

Now I don't use either one yet am never broke.

The story will probably guide my activities more than anything. Hopefully you can progress through it continuously from the beginning with a duo or trio. I've enjoyed the challenge of completing the nation missions in a duo.

I guess that kind of explains why those are the last ones for me to get leveled. Even Goldsmithing was easier to take to 50, thanks to Gold Dust (99% pure! Contains no gold!)

see that's why I would never craft at launch because there's no telling where the real money will be at ( long term) when things settle down. It would help the ones that took the right path to make a fortune, but those who chose the wrong craft either go insane after they find out there's no great profits in it or just brush off the wasted effort and just start skilling up the crafts that are the best. Though blacksmith sounds like it will be valuable for repairiing weapons, though how easy/cheap it is to do so remains to be seen. Buying back up weapons might be cheaper.
