Even though I know I will be playing a female, I am surprised that after all the demand for both genders of Galka and Mithra, that they pull the one gender rule again *shrugs*

That's actually a good point. There has been so much demand for it all throughout FFXI's life. However I'll reserve any judgements until we get the final official list of races (if there are to be more).

Well Galka are technically "gender less, " they're just generally considered to be more male in nature. So I'm not too sure there should be female Galka. Ever.

The point I'm making, is that while I can see male Mithra existing in some way, I really don't see any sort of female counterpart to the Galka.

One thing.

In 14 there are no Galka's. There are Roegadyn, which outwardly do resemble Galkas... but they are the only race that are mentioned to have magic in the race description. So, I'm thinking they are not FFXI's Galkas, as much as they might look like them.

Until the game is out they will keep teasing us with more details. So far they have only given us the races we expect, as players from FFXI. But would you really expect only a name change? Or could there possibly be more coming?

I am not saying I think more are coming, just that anything is possible until the game is actually out, and that until then, they could reveal anything.

And not just any female galka. They have to be transsexual. You have to go on a quest to unlock that.

Since everything Final Fantasy has to be beautiful, I would imagine if female Galka were introduced they'd be tall amazonian women.

I can definitely see them going in that direction. Each race should display some amount of androgyny between males and females, even if very little. I can't say everybody feels the same way, though.
