      I don't doubt it. I just hope that they will give out PS3 ones as well. No way in hell my PC can run FFXIV if I do get into beta lol.

        Since the first place they let it be played by the public was in Germany I sincerely doubt the Beta will be JP Only.

            Does anyone else notice this...

            All the Humes have sword + Sheild.

            Tarus have staves,

            Elezen have Bows... Maybe the elves will actually be better rangers this time around instead of the highest Str. That might be great as "Elves" from what the Elezen are based off of, are more of woodland and ranger type of people.

              FFXI had region specific beta tests.

              The way the game plays and the way the betas are run are two very different things.

                Having the highest STR is already incredibly advantageous to an FFXI Ranger. Twice as advantageous as it is to melees, in fact.

                    What's Holding Up Final Fantasy XIV For Xbox 360? - Gamescom 09 - Kotaku

                    "Final Fantasy XIV has only been officially announced for the PlayStation 3 and PC, but don't rule out an Xbox 360 version. Square Enix isn't. After all, Final Fantasy XI found its way to the Xbox.

                    Hiromuchi Tanaka, producer on FF XIV says that the roadblock in bringing the massively multiplayer game to Xbox Live is due to Microsoft's "network policy." Since the PlayStation 3 and Windows PC versions allow for cross communication and cross platform play, it sounds like that feature is at issue.

                    But Tanaka says that Square Enix is trying to reach an agreement with Microsoft to allow Xbox 360 players to enjoy the game, saying the developer is still "considering" the platform.

                    For now, however, you're going to need either a "high spec" PC or a PS3 to get your fix. What nobody's getting on any platform, however, is built-in voice communication. Square's keeping Final Fantasy XIV strictly text chat only—Sage Sundi, global online producer, suggested that Skype and Ventrilo are still your best bets.

                    The game will ship in 2010 and support Japanese, English, French and German."

                      Well that answers a lot of questions. especially wiht idiots on the PS forums hoping they add voice chat.

                        well in todays games, voice chat makes since, hell Ventrilo makes a hell of a diffrence in DYnamis and other endgame stuff

                          Well you see.. A lot of people from PS3 play shooters and whatnot. They don't realize that it's a little harder to add VC to a game that already uses so much bandwith. Also, it's easier to communicate with foreign players in auto-translated text than voice chat lol. You try to play Socom with a guy from Sweden who doesn't understand English nor does he speak it lol.

                            it would use the same bandwidth if I played FFXIV with Ventrilo running along side it.

                              Oh? I thought if they ran an ingame voice chat, it'd use too much bandwith?? I don't know a whole lot about computers so I usually go off what I hear and assume that they know wtf they're talking about.
