No... The horns at attached to his head. Look at the right side, its actually attacked to his head.
The caption box is talking about Lalafel with horns attached. And asking "WTF?" And saying something about FFXI SMN AF looking like a horn attached to a head too.
If it weren't clearly a painting, and not a CG rendering, those horns might actually mean something.

When it comes to consumable ammo I have to say I really don't mind it. What I do mind however is if it costs huge amounts of money which, in the end, for a lot of people is a deciding factor for weather you want to play it or not. What should make you decide on a job/class is how fun is the actual gameplay/role/mechanics of the job is, not weather or not you can afford it.
The idea of decaying equipment, well if it helps the economy I am all for it, however there are both good and bad ways of doing it and so far I yet to see a game where the system is satisfactory. Not to mention what is a good system completely depends on the equipment/economic- system FFXIV uses. I don't like the idea of having to get the same item several times because it broke, nor do I want my items stats to get worse to the point where I WANT to get a new one(of the same item), but if that is the only way SE can make a good and stable economy with minimal RMT issues and a system where crafting continues to be valued and is profitable throughout the life of FFXIV, then I'll take it. Hopefully they think of a good way of doing it and tbh, with the things they should have learned from FFXI, I am hopeful and have faith in SEs capabilities.
As for the rest, I can't wait to get more info! :D

I like consumable ammo as well, I always get slightly irritated when you can obtain one super-powerful arrow, and use it an infinite amount of times. As far as item wear, it will be fine as long as there is a way to repair the item for much less than the cost of making a new one.

Really, it's just like pretty much every question about this game that begins with "Why." The answer is "Because."

A subjob is like sex, you shouldn't have it untill your 18 but if you don't have it after 21 everyone laughs at you.
How does that help crafting though? I mean if item wear works like in WoW, I really don't see how that helps the crafters in any way, unless they are the only ones who can repair and no NPCs(Which could be really annoying). The problems BBQ are talking about isn't solved so easily, unless I completely missunderstood what he was saying.

Well, with WoWs system... An item can be repaird as many times as you want. Items should only be repaired X amount of times so that items actually "Break". But, you keep the weapon, and it can be made into raw materials.
Say for example... You repaired your short sowrd 4 times already, and it gets broken this time. You keep the broken blade, and the handle. You can keep the haft as it isn't broken, and you can melt down the iron blade into an ingot, and have some one that can "craft" weapons, make you a new blade, and place the blade back into the hilt. Or, you can use the hilt to put on a different blade as the hilt may be 'enchanted" for like fire damage or some such.
Wow, really that soon? Awesome! I agree with Takelli, but tbh from the info just released it doesn't sound like they are 100% sure on everything themselves, like with the quest system. Anyway, gogogo Aug 19th!
hmmm if someone could please translate the section with the infamous horned looking elvaan. I would appreciate it. Cannot find my japanese translating friend ><
Lalafel has horns?!
A:There are horn-like things growing out of Lalafel?!
B If you look at the CG there are no horns so perhaps it's something like the SMN AF Headgear.
A:Head butt strengthening effect or something?
