I have done that before, and its REALLY fun but... no one really wants to do it. I have looked about. even when I am looking for areas that have Garrison being done in it, I find nothing. Maybe I will try to start up a linkshell for it then... Hmmm....

There's not really anything good to be gotten from doing Garrison. Only three out of an alliance are likely to get the drops, since that's about all you get in terms of drops. I've done it once, and there were eighteen people, most of whom walked away empty-handed.

It's not too hard to see why no one wants to do it, I mean it's moderately fun, but people want rewards for their efforts when they play a game.

Well, if you do it as a party, you can get exp stuff, and money (who every one gets), and some times you get lucky with the mannaquine drops. You even get half decent gear too lol

<edit> I did it as a full party (not alliance), and it was VERY easy lol

It would be silly to only do the Garrison once. Ideally, you'd have everyone you had from the nation controlling the region farm the Garrison items, and then all go to town. Assuming one third of your group is from the controlling region (reasonable assumption), and "three items" to get per Garrison, 3 x 1 / 3 = theoretically, everyone in your group, no matter how large, should get something.

In theory, sure, but in reality, it never plays that way.

Well, the ones who don't get anything, will get an item next time on the next garrison run... Esp if some one has the mannaquin parts, they cant lot on the same part lol.

The mannequin parts don't drop every time though, in fact, the few times I did Garrison I don't think I ever saw one drop. It was mostly those gear pieces, which aren't incredible (but aren't bad) and since it was just a random pick up group, everything was free lot, without preventing people who already won a lot from lotting (and winning) again.

Not that it's not a failing with the group itself, but the reason people don't do it is probably mostly because of other people.

Its mostly a community thing. I have gotten a few Garrison equips, and Mannaquin parts when I did it before, and made a decent amount of money. The Garrison Gear sells for a decent price too.

Its actually kinda worth it if you have people who know what they are doing, and know how to do it.

Re: What you don't want to see in FFXIV...

                    Back on topic...

What I do not want to see in this game are Time Spawned NMs. They suck! 1 hour spawn, yea, that fine, but 2-9 hours? 24-26 hours? Even 1 week spawns? No way!

Atleast make them force spawn. And all monsters that share that monster type in that zone should drop the pop item. And even if some one is already fighting a NM, you can force spawn another NM, as it creats a "Seperate" battle field for you, and no one but you and your alliance can fight it.

As for the items... Say you are after the NM crab. All crabs in that zone that has the spawn point in it, drop the force spawn item. And the itme shouldn't be like 1/1000 kills, more liek 1/75 or something like that. And the items that the Nm drops should be AT LEAST over 35% no matter what NM you are fighting. I hate having to camp a NM for days on end just to kill over and over and over and over and over and NEVER getting the drop that I want. I am pretty sure that the people who have done this will agree as well. I hate having to sit there for days trying to get this 1 item.

Who ever thought up of the 26 hour spawn NMs... I want to shoot. Especially when you need to kill like 3-4 of them AND get their drops to trade to some guy just to get a piece of gear.

<Edit> Sorry, didn't mean to double post.

When your ammo is 20k a stack and you're normally going through two to level you tend to get really concerned when you're into your fourth and you still haven't dinged.
While spending does allow you to be shrewd to some degree, you have to also face the fact that EXP levels are not and never will remain proportionate to the ammo spent in a PT. It will vary by level, party setup and in COR's case, your party role.

If you think that's a drag on NIN or COR, just imagine RNG - Ammo is almost all RNG has. I can only whore out the Orthenus' Bow so much, it has to give way to Bows, Arrows, Guns and Bullets eventually. I still buy this stuff and can't really be too much of a chooser when it comes to PTs as a RNG. I could go COR, sure, but there are days I want ot be a RNG.

At the end of the day - fake money, fake resources and fake blood. None of it is real so I can stand for a little more excitement and variety from time-to-time.
