The *ahem* OFFICIAL "FINAL FANTASY XIV Online" Thread of Ultimate Anticipation!
I really just wish they could get their act together.
As much as I hate frivolous litigation, this is the kind of shit SE should be taken to task over. You pay for a service, then get red tape for crap you didn't even do or is in no way a liability on your part? Yeah, not a good way to run a business. Provided you don't do anything wrong, once SE accepts the money they're obligated to provide proper service.

I dont know, this one seemed to fit well ;p besides this thread was getting way off track, we should close this one and use the other one, or merge... and I know how much the admins love mergin stuff ^.^

I'm personally very fed up with their shoddy customer service. If I have to deal with another credit card related ban, I will probably just stop giving them any more money altogether. Especially considering the fact that the first time, from my cute little 1 hour ban message thing based on chargebacks (which I've never done, neither have several others who also got this short ban), the rep absolutely reassured me that the same thing would absolutely not happen again this month, and naturally, (not his fault) he didn't know, and it did happen again, and instead of an hour not being able to log in, it was three days.
I really just wish they could get their act together.
well the new billing site SE has put together, and the new charge thing they will be doing (30 day instead of the month thing) then I would say they are getting their act together ^.^

...I don't know what in the hell just happened...but that's not something new for me.
Anyway, as far as gear swaps are concerned, I never hated the concept. In fact I like how it gives you so many options to tweak and modify your builds to excel at a specific task. It shows that you're trying hard to accomplish something as best you can. However that doesn't mean it's without it's problems. That said, I think the best concept that was suggested was to not do away with gear swaps completely, just alter it so it's a limited amount of things that need to be changed. Make it so gear is mainly aesthetic only, the clothes you wear are for looks first and foremost. Your stat boosts would come from accessories, orbs, rings, materia, job spheres, whatever the hell you want to call them, things you could switch out on the fly without affecting the look of your character. Or even taking it one step further, make it so you have three types of equipment, clothes for looks, magic whatsits for stats and accessories (bracelets, belts, necklaces etc)with some stats and a number of slots to attach the magic whatsits to. Instead of willy nilly switching these things around, you'd be able to change between pre-arranged belt options or something.
Like say you had two belts, one belt had +5 str with three option slots, the other had +3% haste with two option slots. You could switch between the two belts, which would change the base stats as well as the customized slots. But you wouldn't be able to alter the slots themselves while in combat so you'd have to equip the magic whatsits to the belt before you started fighting. It would end up being a weird mix up of FFVII's materia system, XI's gear swaps and PSU's clothing/Armor system, which I think would work out pretty nicely.
