Also, is it my imagination, or is the 1 mithra in the middle sitting at the table look masculine ? Two of my friends argued with me until they were blue in the face but to me it looks like that very well could be a man. The face & hair just don't look as feminine as the other two. If not for the stupid plant obstructing the view of the chest, we could ascertain right away. (the shoulders seem broader too but that could just be the angle)

They're too long and pointy to be cat ears. Mithra have short ears and they're the ones who look like cats. I'm not saying that's a Viera at all but it's certainly not an Elvaan.

And yes the Mithra resting their chin on their hand does look like a male. And from what I am hearing they just introduced a few male Mithra in FFXI??

I bet anything there's endgame clues in FFXI and I think Lilisette, the mysterious woman, the male Mithra, and a few other things are just a few.

This is fascinating and all, but has anyone cared to look to the far left and see the little blonde girl with horns?

The child doesn't seem to be a Taru type race either since he seems too large, ears too small, and neck too long.
It's a perspective thing. If you take a baseball bat and lay it horizontally infront of you, it'll be long and thin. Slowly start turning it towards you, and it'll get shorter and fatter. Notice how both of your examples are facing more to the side, while the chick is looking more forward? Elvaan ears go out and back, but when you look at em from the front, they just look like the go out. Look at em from the side, and they look like they're going back. It's all in the point of view.

They match elvaan much better...seeing as she's an elf chick.

I agree. I think the supposed Elvaan female in questioning is in fact.. another race! Yes.. it's less detailed. For what reason? To create speculation and also for skeptics to say otherwise.

Now.. some of you may be saying "Well Pwn.. there's obvious races in the pic with the same minor painted detail so the artist hiding something is totally irrelevant.. and that that Elvaan female just matches most of all the background races."

but that's what they want you to think.. I rest my case!
Well I am tempted to pled the 5th here the fact is your have the right idea. He made sure that the organic back ground was well shown, and the use of crystals are every where. Like the oones on what can only be seen as a thieves tool belt. Then the throwing knifes pouches possible ninja reference. Then they made some character easily identifiable. Behind the pouchs the wizardly like hat and the staff. To the left of that character behind the taru the whm traditional colors. So was this the artist attempt to say everyone won't be so different from the standard classes I know not but the elvaan looking red mage on the far right and the mithra that is wearing a dancer like garb it seems that what was being pointed to.

Also as both Ziero pointed out before and OMGBBQKitten tried to bring back into view is the girl with horns. The way that they are colored you would not noice them on a glace by because they plend in with the back ground.

The only thing I can be sure is that there is a guy with dreads in the picture to the right of the wizard looking character.

I just brought this up to a friend of mine today. Neither of us had the picture to reference at the time, but I was sure I had thought the same thing you brought up.

I've just come out of a long gaming fog to find all this information in only the last few days. I don't bother checking other forums, so it's moot.

Again, I'm getting to all all of this a bit later than most of you, but is this anything or is it somebody talking out of their butt?

I haven't heard any confirmations on this from anywhere else, so I'm wary for now. My apologies if this is garbage.

Rumors about FFXIV being free to play with microtransactions has been going on since they announced it at E3. Again, its all rumors. The only thing that matters is an official announcement and there hasn't been one yet.

The only thing that caught my eye was when they announced, it would appealled to more players who do not have enough time on their heads to level, complete missons, quest, blah blah blah.

Pretty much their making it a solo friendly game and that's the only thing I care about since I personally do not have enough time to do the things other people who do not work a night shift job do. This is what's killing me, the fact that I work at night.

I actually loved the original concept of FFXI's party-based leveling system. It definitely forced people to become more of a community that helps each other rather than just players of a game - though this worked much much better when the servers were completely populated. I guess with time comes changes. I hope they still keep the solid party aspect of MMORPGs in FFXIV. They said that there will be something for hardcore gamers and casual gamers, and for party players and soloers - but I'm having doubts that when given an option to solo, a lot of people will go for that instead of partying.
