Yeah but she looks evil so the purple tint with the black outfit makes her look that more evil..

And I had a black character lol. The only black character you could have in the game anyway lmao.

I don't see anything resembling a Viera.. but if you're talking about the guy leaning forward resting his chin on his hand, that looks like a male mithra.. then again.. maybe it could be a viera with shorter ears?

But with the graphics of FFXIV... They should add in a slider. Muscle, Skin tone, Eyes, ect..

Its the one with a spear on their back. They are on teh right side of the frame, facing the blm hat guy...

Just looks like a Viera to me... oh well

No you can have a black dude as a character in FFXI lol. He's got a light skintone with braided dreads that go back into a little ponytail. I wasn't going to use him but he kinda looked like me..

If they are adding the races from the Ivalice setting, these are the options. Information copied from the Final Fantasy Wiki (would link directly, but not enough posts to link yet )

The Bangaa: The Bangaa are a lizard-like race, dominant over all of Ivalice. They have long faces, scaly skin, and tough limbs. Due to all these factors, the Bangaa are considered the brute force of all the races in Ivalice. The Bangaa have both male and females, but it is impossible to tell the two apart, until they actually start talking.

The Gria: The Gria are a small-bodied draconic race, complete with dragon wings, tail and horns. The Gria are more proficient in physical attacks rather than magick in combat.

I believe these are the horned race that people are seeing.

The Nu Mou: The Nu Mou are dog-like in appearance, being very squat with elongated faces and tails. Other than that, not much is known about the Nu Mou, as they are a very reserved race, prefering to stay quiet in many situations. The Nu Mou excel in magic, since their small bodies restrict their physical abilities. However, when magic won't do, they can also call on the abilities of monsters to help.

The Seeq: The Seeq are a pig-like race who come in a variety of colors and sizes, and it is impossible for any other race to tell the difference between a male and female Seeq, physically at least.

The Viera: The Viera have rabbit-like features, including long ears and supple limbs. Due to their long feet, Viera wear stilletos most of the time. The Viera also have a heightened sense of smell, which can put them at a disadvantage against some of Ivalice's smellier monsters.

The Viera's ears not only allow them to hear over great distances, they also allow them to listen to the voices of the spirit world. They can put this ability to great use, either to communicate with the world around them, or to summon monsters from other worlds. Furthermore, the Viera have approximately three times the lifespan of Humes; they can be more than 50 years old and still be in their prime.

Viera have light-colored hair; Though their skin color varies from the light-skinned Veena and the dark-skinned Rava. In Final Fantasy XII, the Viera have silver hair. Though those who chose to live among Humes often color their hair in shades of brown or black.

Bangaa and Seeq are fugly races.. i didn't know 12 and tactics had the same races. But I probloy ready it somewhere at one point ages ago when 12 was first coming out and just forgot..

And I am convinced the Viera you're seeing is just a female Elvaan.. But I am not going to count out that possibilty. I think if it was, the ears would be ontop of the head instead of the sides.

Yea they have the same races, and they where fairly interesting... Just couldn't play as them. I would love to play as a Seeq, or a Bangaa...

Yeah it'd be nice. But if you're a black dude playing as a hume and want a character who looks black, then you could just go with the character I got.

She's not purple, she's pale white. The purple is just the glow from the area she's in.

The original Tactics had just humans, Tactics Advanced let you play as Humans, Moogles, Baanga, Viera and No Mou. When 12 came in, they added the Seeq and I think got rid of the No Mous and when Tactics Advanced 2 came out, they took the five original races, added the Seeq and then threw in the Gria on top of everything else.

Out of all the races though, the Gria is the only one who might be a playable race in XIV since there is actually one in the big picture. I'm not saying the rest won't be in XIV, but they'll most likely be either enemy beastmen type mobs and NPCs like Gobs and such.

But I will say, I honestly doubt we'll see any Viera, I don't think fanboys can handle two anthropomorphic hot furry chick races in one game.

Incorrect. There are No Mous in FFXII, they are just exceedingly rare. For example, Ma'kenrouh inside the Clan Centurio is a No Mou (he's the guy upstairs next to the Viera). There are a few more examples, but you can really count the number of No Mou you meet in XII on two hands.
