      Speaking of mining for fish.

      If SE adds Fishing again in XIV I hope they implement a system like Ryu ga Gotoku's. I can't believe just how much time I've spent (having fun) fishing on that game.

        Ugh. I HATED how FFXIs fishing was created. Its so boring... but then again RL fishing is boring IMO lol. You place the line in teh water, and wait. The fish bites, and you turn the line form one side of the screen to another side...

        Hopefully if they put Fishing in FFXIV they make it more... Action packed (Cant think of the actual word. Shhh... XD ). Make it so that you have to hit more than just two buttons, or atleast turn the joystick in a circular motion (or forthe pc, use the mouse in a circular motion), that would completly eliminta bot fishing, and it will make it more fun. Especially if the fish bite faster than what they did in FFXI. ( I detest fishing if you cant tell lol)

        Oh... Mass fishing with two boats and a net. :D That'd be fun to do lol. Plave the net in the water, and drag it between teh two boats for X amount of time, and reel it up XD

        But as to the... "How to kill a Fish" thing... My method is just to stab them to death with a sword, and dagger as rdm :D

          better yet, stab the fish with a metal spear, then jump back and let the mage cast lightning on the spear.

          DRG and BLM combo move: Lightning Strike

            OMG! Imagine if FFXIV was like that... The different jobs you group with, gives you "Group" abilities or such...

            Rdm+War. Hex strike: Warrior. Inflicts one random negitive status effect onto foe...

                  In Ryu ga Gotoku you have to move in 4 directions instead of 2, you can also tire the fish if you choose to, but it's more of a balancing act between your reeling in the fish, the tension on the line and where the fish is trying to go.

                  You also have to choose just how far from the shore you are going to throw the line, farther distances get you the best fish, but they can be stronger and it takes always longer to reel them in, which increases the chances of snapping the line if you get distracted.

                  There is a bar indicating the level of stress on the line depending on how the fish is moving and what direction you are moving the rod so you have to balance it constantly.

                  Etc. etc.

                  Anyway, reeling a little 40cm (around 16") fish never was so gratifiying, that's for sure.

                        Actually those links have absolutely no new information about anything. All they do is restate and speculate on things we've been discussing here ever since it was announced.

                          It would definitely be cool if there was such a combo system in FFXIV.

                          Kinda like the Steiner + Vivi combo too if you guys recall.

                            I demand Six-Axis fishing and being able to actually see the fish (i.e. your character holds it in front of them for a few seconds after reeling it in.)

                                then dont play a console MMORPG.........

                                FFXI and FFXIV are both console MMORPGs, designed with a controller in mind.
