Re: E3 Square Enix Press Conference about FFXIV

Speaking of the token I wonder if they'll implement a service to link it to your FFXIV account.

I'm actually inclined not to since you have to buy a new one when the battery dies... unless they offer incentives =3

      the logo redefines EPICNESS.

hopefully the in-game level design, characters, atmosphere, etc. matches the beautiful ominous flavor that Kazuya Takahashi's artwork expresses. It reminds me of the original FFTactics and Vagrant Story, but so much better.

I don't like the token idea.

I would have to wait for the token to arrive in the mail, before I can use a password that will enable me to keep playing? and the token has a battery limit???? whatever happened to AC adapter plugs?????

I think the token would only matter if you already had the SE account and token. I don't think they'd force you to use it for XIV anymore than they are for XI.

I think the only way that token's battery will die is if you actually play FFXI for the next thirty years or so.

Re: E3 Square Enix Press Conference about FFXIV

Well I am excited for two reason, and TGM thankyou for posting those.

                      1. If that battle with the mithra (or what ever they name it) and the galka (or what ever they name it) was the in game graphics from the engine that would be cool, what would be cooler if that was a battles. Because other then not being able to parrying, guard, and shield block you rarely have any extra challenge from fighting enemies on both sides other then auto targeting not catching your still getting bashed in the skull. So if battle actual matter in posistioning for every one it would give a strategic depth that isn't normally seen,. Plus that barrier dome was bad@ss, hopefully it will be a real move.

                      2. The fact that ffxi community has gotten so indepth when 14 drops, all the communites can adjust. FF radios will hit a new wave of life. Not saying the info is not useful that they give but at points because you played it it seems like your waiting for a change of subject some times. Forums will be easier to find. For those that have played MMO that have launched like 2 weeks ago have trouble finding actual reliable forums. I remember back in the day people would just quote the brandy games manual to help people and screw them up even worst. Plus as I imagine alot of you guys even if you won't play will check out the upcoming forums for it, so there will be like minded people.

One thing I wished was asked was improvements to translator, because I understand that the word the does not translate, and I am at doesn't translate well, but sometimes because of my play times I get bombed with katakana or hirigana (I forgot which is used) on the screen and only know like 4 words, and then I haphazardly try to form a sentence to see if they were asking for help or asking for a party. If they fix that I am sure alot of the I want to be separated issues will drop at least on bahamut, because there are time when we loose a player acting as translator the odd men out to stop ripples will leave and I always feel bad because of the slow down.

It will and the batteries will last at least a decade but most likely far longer then that.

Readable forums require readable posts, not just new subjects for discussion or high activity. Its on the users to make their posts readable, simply making a post does not make your topic interesting. Some of the most active forums out there feel like brain poison to me. I'm sure that if most admins and moderators could simply ban people for being stupid, they would. Sadly, stupid is not a good enough reason to ban someone since stupid isn't exactly misbehaving.

And stupid people can bring amusement to others.

The reason podcasts feel like they go in cicles is because there are subjects that are worth revisiting at times, not to mention each podcast has its own angle from which they do commentary. PFA tends to focus on the higher level content, LBR tends to be a bit more casual, JP Button's Podcast explores the lore and cultural interactions of the game.

All good points Omgwtfbbqkitten, so I guess I should say a gathering of like minded communities already exist that weren't around when I started originally. Having the ability to talk in a focused forum with people that will have some input and opinion specifically to the question, statement, or recollection is great. Even if it of little help, or just jokes having a place out of game to just talk is an experience that is similar feeling to discussing with friends, co workers, passerbys about single player games and their stories. But maybe it is just me or my lack of sleep is causing me to unable to properly express the meaning.
