Apparently SE has a new kind of POL coming out for FF14 called "Vault"

or that's what I've heard anyway, can't confirm anything. It just struck me as odd they'd ditch POL while saying you can transfer your friend lists from it >.>b


POL was awesome the first time I fired it up (even my dad was wowed lol) but yeah, after 6+ years it's gotten old. Time for a new interface.

SE should just let FFXI player transfer stuff at least over FFXIV

or let FFXI characters get some special treatments then those non-players. It is something good to give to your loyal customer!


Actually i like the cross-platform playing and international. It is one of the unique feature.

then again, i also very sick of seeing "French Only" or "Japanese Only" signs. Then again i can speak both language =.=

I hope it enable "chinese" and korean as well this time.



Another issue, anyone actually feel FFXI a grind? I mean leveling up wise, i never felt FFXI as a grind during level up, it does feel the grind come directly from waiting for party (before level sync).

Whoever use WoW as a reference seriously never experience a "relaxing and casual game". Let me tell you how much hour it take to level in wow.
61-62 : took me 7:30 hours of questing to level.
and from
72-73 : took me over 10 hours of questing to level.

That's what a real grind look like... 71-72 in FFXI took me 4 hour.

Well there is always the possibility that they will give people with FFXI accounts an incentive. But remember it will probably be something like a decoration for whatever type of dwelling they'll have or a piece of armor thats only for show.

Maybe the option to reserve your name and stuff? But it would depend on how servers would be managed.

Also, I wonder if I'll be able to use my SE token in the new game, since it's linked to my SE account, not POL/XI.

I usually take good care of things so I should still have it when XIV goes live.

I want answers on this! Is going to be the same old lock on target and auto attack or some thing radically different?
Answers to this and a character creator need to be put on the official site ASAP!

I'm hoping for a new team based combat system built around swarms intelligent monsters that attack the player it is most beneficial to their survival to attack and not the player provoking or healing the most. The less locking onto targets for melee characters the better, but I don't think ranged attackers should have to aim.

This wild speculation is killing me.

Wow that is pretty over the top.

I left Ffxi to play wow because my partner plays wow and i needed something a little more casual.

I still love the FFxi, but i play wow atm.

I got my Pld Blood elf from 1-60 in 3 days, then 60-70 in 2 days.

72-73 took me about 4-5 hours max.

In ffxi it might take you 4 hours to lv from 71-72 but how many hours were you seeking for a party?

I would imagine that FFXIV is going to be linked to your SE account, so the token will work for it. Didn't SE account say something about future games? And that is probably how they'll link the friends lists as well.

My hope is just that SE doesn't decide to go with a new model of token next year, as ordering this one was a BIG pain for me (I live outside the US.)

Unless they fix that part of the process that is.



Other than that I was also wondering about LS community sites.

Will SE be on the ball this time around and provide really useful Linkshell internet support? Thankfully they can use XI's LS community sites as their guinea pigs for the time being.

(Question is if Linkshells are using them enough to provide good data about it)
