    WTF. This is a NEW GAME. Why on earth would you ever think that 1.) All of your gil/gear/etc. would be transferable, and relevant in this new game, and that 2.) SE would ever allow people to transfer characters over from the endgame of one timesink to that of a new one. They want you to play for as long as possible. Starting from level 1 and going to the level cap with everyone else means that SE gets that many more months of subscription fees out of you.

    If you want to be max level and have amazing gear than STAY IN VANADIEL    . Otherwise, accept that you will have to leave your current character behind. But hey! FFXI will still be here, so you can still work on that character and maybe even have less competition for things!
    I'd like to point out again a couple points that Murphie made here. First, SE wants to make money off the game just like any other business. That is their main concern. So why do you think they'd let you take your character over to a new game? They want you to put in hours and hours of leveling a NEW character so you play longer and pay them more. So just get that right out of your head, its HIGHLY unlikely they will allow FFXI character to switch to FFXIV.

    Second, STAY IN VANA'DIEL! PLEASE! Anyone that wants their character switched over to FFXIV is not someone that I want to play with in the new MMO. I want people that open their eyes in wonder at the sights, people who laugh at dying over something stupid, people that want to explore knowing that we probably won't get far and don't care, and people who want to experience the joy at discovering all the new and exciting things that this game will hold. I don't want people that just want to rush to the top just to say they could get there first. Stay in FFXI.

                    I want my swapable crystal/materia for equipment so I don't blink or have to look like I made my armor out of stuff I found in the trash can whenever I want to fight something damnit.

                    Extra points if it level up-able.



                    Edit > Although I already got tired of wish-listing so I'll go back to think about what games am I going to play when I take a break again.

                              New world, new races :/ They're just made to look similar for our own comfort.

                              That means Galkas don't have tails anymore. Great design ruined!
