WHM has exp concerns

A white mage in my hypothetical party is concerned about gaining exp in a party. We have warriors and thief to do the killing, but how does a support WHM gain exp? Do you have to physically hit the monster? Does support magic casted on an enemy entitle the WHM to exp after the mosnter is slain? Can you get exp from the monster if all you're doing is healing the party? Meow~~

Everyone in the group gets exp for the kill regardless of whether they did all of the work or slept the whole fight.
