Re: Some Preliminary Testing of the new spells/abilities

I ended up buying every spell because my salvage static wanted to go and maint kinda screwed things up.
Being the static's main white mage I had to have those anyway and I'll pretty much have the gil back selling 1 or 2 weeks worth of Alexandrite at the rate we do Salvage.

Cura - haven't done much testing on that yet.
But also my gut feeling sais that at level 40 this spell might actually be more beneficial enmity wise.
Only time and testing will tell.

Auspice - I was kind of hoping this spell would give the enlight effect to partymembers with Misery up.
Yet the 10% subtle blow alone helped out greatly anyway.

Esuna - All I can say is; I love it I love it I love it I love it I love it I love it I love it

Sacrifice - haven't played around with that much yet.

I still have to play around with the stances, and I really need to think about how I will arrange my macros with these new goodies.

Re: Some Preliminary Testing of the new spells/abilities

I went WHM/THF to farm Cura and Auspice. Cura dropped on my first try, then I had to hit about eight more River Sahagins to get a second one to sell. Then I spent about two hours trying to get Spring Sahagins to drop Auspice, until I re-checked the wiki pages and found out that I should've been going after Rivulet Sahagins. Duh. (And of course I was getting no Cura drop to clue me in because it was Rare and I already had it, so it never dropped.) In the process of farming the Rivulets for two scrolls, I got THREE chest keys to drop.

The prices on those things were at about 20k yesterday, but at 20+ each on the AH, the undercutters have been getting the price to decay to 10K. I expect it to end up in the 5K range like most of the mob-drop spells. On the other hand, Sacrifice was going for a higher price (70-90k) on the AH than the NPC price in Rabao.

And now back to leveling BST for a while.

Re: Some Preliminary Testing of the new spells/abilities

Last night, I spent about 1 hour farming, got Cura to drop once, Auspice to drop twice and Esuna to drop once. This was ALL farming in the Sea Serpent Grotto. I swear those Sahagins are damn scroll hordes!

Unfortunately I wanted to get the Esuna but someone else lotted for it and the Cura, so I didn't get those I had to buy Esuna, (what a waste ugh)

Sacrifice is the hardest one to get, so I suggest if you people only have about 60k, to go buy Sacrifice first, and then farm the other three in the Grotto.

Special thanks to Boldfinger for his awesome beastyness abilities in the farm last night. Sorry about your 1 death, I was out of cure v range! I swear! & Repose takes too long to cast when your getting hit with 3 mobs :p

I just need to farm Cura from those Spring Sahagins and then I need to hit up Gustav tunnels (sp) for Sacrifice from those damn Gobbie Alchemists.

        EDIT:
Oops forgot to mention, testing on Auspice, if another whm casts it, and you do not have Affalice Misery on, you will not get the enlight attack. Not sure about the accuracy but you need to have Misery on before you can use it. I guess this is good for the all whm parties in KRT.

Re: Some Preliminary Testing of the new spells/abilities

That's actually wrong. Just can cast the spell then activate Misery and you will get enlight and the +acc boost. It just won't give Subtle Blow-ga to everyone else

Oh and someone needs to start telling WHMs to activate Solstice before using a barspell. It adds about +6 to elemental resistance (My barspells go up from +86 Resist with no Solstice to +92 Resist with it) and I'm fairly sure at adds a bit to MDB too but I can't confirm that.

Someone should also note that Esuna is cheaper than Erase by about 7-8MP and is produces considerably less Emnity than spamming Erase or Divine Seal + Erase. it is also much more effective under misery since it can wipe multiple enfeebs from a party member as long as you have them.

Sacrifice is very nice. One very good use I have found for it is removing Accuraccy Down from a DD since if I'm main healing I'm not going to need to hit things.

Huh? I thought Auspice was always AoE Subtle Blow no matter what.

Re: Some Preliminary Testing of the new spells/abilities

No Auspice only goes AoE under Misery. You just need to watch the chatlog and casting animation to find that out :p

But if Auspice is already active on you (no matter who casts it) and you don't have misery up you just need to activate Misery and you will get your En-Light and Subtle Blow

Not true. I was under Solace yesterday during Fafnir, casting it every time it wore, and it was hitting every member of my party. Regardless of whether or not we claim, I will take a screenshot to prove it when I get back in game.

No, Auspice is ALWAYS AoE. Solace, Misery, or none.

                            Oh yah 1 thing about Esuna I just remembered that I saw in the BG thread;

Without Misery it won't remove Spider AoE Slow but it will with it.

Cura is actually quite OK if you do things where you need to wake your party up. After all, it only costs half the amount of MP Curaga does.

I actually replaced my Curaga macro with it since all I do with Curaga these days is wake people up. :p

With all these new tricks, /SCH and everything else, it really makes me wanna level WHM again on my mule. Just to see how much easier it is to exp these days~ ^^

Oh and sorry I kept Reposing mobs that were aggroing you, only to have them suddenly charmed. You get a nice statue for all it's worth XD
Didn't help that I had to deal with the 1st aggro after you used leave on your pet haha.
