I recently came into possession of this nifty item and I'm wondering if anyone else has one yet. From what I've already experienced it's a great addition when casting Repose (or BRD Lullaby and Requiem for that matter). I'm gonna be testing it out for various uses - increases in Cure, Flash and Dia potency, maybe even extra damage for Banish and Holy.

Re: Light Grip
Hint: It won't add damage to anything and you won't be able to tell an accuracy difference between that and a Raptor+1 for WHM, though for Lullaby/Req every bit helps and there's no strap with more CHR than 2, wouldn't hurt at all.Callysto of RamuhCaithsith - 75 RDM / BRD / COR / PLD / WAR / SCH / DRK

Re: Light Grip
In my opinion, the elemental grips are much better for RDM sticking enfeebling spells than anything else. Light Grip is good to macro in for Repose, but little else. Dia will always stick no matter what, you never will be using Holy or Banish spells in situations where you need to stack Magic Accuracy in order to land it unresisted, and it won't affect your Cures except when you're using them to damage undead.

Re: Light Grip
Would they be useful for macroing on for enfeebs? I've noticed that mine stick a heck of a lot more often after I started macroing in elemental staves for Slow, Paralyze and Silence even without using Light Arts from /SCH. Would the bonus from the grips effect these at all?Rahal Gerrant - Balmung - 188 DRK

I have a question:
Why didn't SE add a single grÃp with Magic Acc +2 instead?
Is it some kind of sick saddist attempt to see who would be dumb enough to carry a whole set of them along with the full set of staves?
Ok those were 2 questions but it also makes me wonder why they added Reprise as a spell even though it works exactly like a JA.sigpic

Re: Light Grip
I would assume that they actually don't want someone to be able to carry full on gear for every function as well as full HQ staves + Ele grips, trying to make players sort of limit their choices. Believe it or not, I think that S-E does not in fact want every mage to be an invincible super-mage.
As far as the grips themselves, I've used enough straight MAcc gear on RDM to know that the +2 won't really be that noticeable on a normal mage, but may be moreso on BRD since those formulas work a bit differently. I prefer to keep my Raptor +1, because if I'm not going to see a noticeable increase in MAcc I want to max my potency, and of course there's the inventory concerns to boot.

Re: Light Grip
...unless they have hidden stats.
jk Yeah for MND based spells Raptor already gives you +M.Acc and you also get some +MP from it.
Sadly I'll probably get Dark, Wind, Light and Ice grips eventually unless they add a Raptor grip with INT instead, as the Bugard +1 isn't worth the space.sigpic

Re: Light Grip
I still intend to at least try an Earth Grip for Slow on gods and such, as well as a Dark Grip since there's not much else out there for Drain/Aspir. Wind is kind of meh to me, in terms of Silence as a RDM anything that you can't land it on with Auster's you probably can't land it on with Auster's + Wind Grip.Callysto of RamuhCaithsith - 75 RDM / BRD / COR / PLD / WAR / SCH / DRK
