Is it possible to solo the AF Body NM at a LV75 job?

I've been wondering this for sometime. I would assume possible 75 RDM/NIN could possibly solo the AF Dark Elvaan NM in Fei'yin, but I've never heard nor seen of anyone doing this.

I've been to the battle several times, but its always been with an alliance. I've always wondered however.

Anyone know?

It's possible to solo on RDM/NIN but risky (and you need pretty good gear). Even to a level 75, his Dimensional Death hits pretty hard if you don't blink it.

That said, I've done this with basically a duo of RDM75/NIN37 and WHM75/BRD37 before and it was very easy.

As Icemage said, possible, but risky. I did it with a 75NIN/WAR and a 75RDM/NIN when I was a 59 WHM, and it went pretty well. You just have to really be on top of your game if you're going to try and solo him.

I'm 3/6 on this fight because it's so hard, and the times I've failed I've had fewer than 3 level 65+ members in the party (myself included).

Aldetour is an extremely hard mob to beat IMO, and that said I have to give some major props to Icemage on managing to duo this guy.

I've duoed this mob with my 75whm/nin and the whm needing the drop. He would haste and cure me, and I think I used 2 yag drinks but that was it. I used my normal gear, astrals, nobles tunic, blessed pants, feet and hands, penitents rope.

Dual darksteel mauls is what I used, just takes a really really long time to kill it. I got down to yellow/orange HP twice I think. Just make sure you got enough shihe, I think i burned through a stack and a half of them over the course of the fight.

SMN75 can solo it. Even better if you have a 40rdm there to refresh him.

My whm has hit 57 and I wanted to get this done before I dinged 58. I seriously hate bugging people on my flist so I was wondering if there was anyway I could duo this thing with the hubby.

At our disposal:
I has BRD75 and DRG75 with SAM, WHM, and WAR leveled to sub
He has RDM75 and BLM75 with DRK, WHM, WAR and gimpNIN (low 30s) to sub. (though by the time we get around to doing this it'll probably be fully subworthy)

I read on the wiki that a RDM75 with a 25NIN sub was able to solo him, though the fight took a really long time. I'm wondering if we have any shot at this with a combination of the jobs we have. And if so, what sort of strategy?

Have been muddling through some ideas myself, but the last time I fought this guy was in a huge alliance back in the day and I was just helping someone out. I'm wondering if he can be slept with lullaby, and just how resistant he is to stun (IE: could a BLM land stun on him with capped Dark Magic?) Could a DRG/SAM eat the DD spam with Seigan+3rd Eye up?

If only you didn't lose the bell if you lose, I wouldn't mind trial and error. Anyways, any thoughts? Can we do this with what we have? If so, how?

RDM75/NIN37 (you really want overlapping utsusemi) and DRG75/WHM37 should probably be able to take him fairly easy. Dimensional Death is still messy, especially toward the end when he spams it.

I don't know about Lullaby, and haven't a chance to check Repose, as every time I've gone after him, it's been with 3+ people.

If you want to guarantee it and not waste the bell, best suggestion I can give? Bug the people on your /flist. ^^ I'd offer to help, but wrong server.

RDM/NIN with a sub-37 subjob can NOT solo this fight in standing combat. You might be able to do it as RDM/NIN using a kite/nuke/dot strategy with just Utsusemi: Ichi, but if it were me I certainly wouldn't gamble on it, considering how long it takes to get the bell sometimes.

99.9% certain this NM is immune to Sleep of all types, including Lullaby and Repose.

My recommendation would be to find someone you know with a level 37 NIN subjob and enlist their help, with the two of you going in as BRD and RDM respectively to give your would-be helper the warm fuzzy feeling of having adequate support.

Would DRG/WHM be useful? I'd assume I'd end up tanking him if we went RDM/NIN + DRG/WHM and from what I've read the en-aspir saps 100+ mp, Would refresh even help in that case? Plus his -ga spells would take out my poor wyvern fast. I was thinking DRG/SAM and RDM/NIN and have him play healer. Or BLM/something and me on BRD trying sleep & bind nuke with firey goodness. But if he ignores lullabies that won't work :3

And blah. I hate buggin people. Specially the few that I'd even feel comfy asking for help from. I guess I'd just rather try it ourselves first. Maybe.

Absolutely not. Healing Breath triggers at too low an activation point for safety when your enemy is tossing out Dimensional Deaths like they're going out of business.

Will not work. You will lose. Refresh will not save you in that circumstance when there is no one with Utsusemi: Ni.

RDM75/NIN37 + BRD75/WHM37 should work. Elegy + Slow/Slow II will buy you all kinds of time to get Utsusemi back up. Just make sure you have Stoneskin and Blink/Utsusemi up at all times.

I'd recommend using Mage's Ballad II + Victory March as your songs if you do opt for this.

Another Good Idea would be to find another WHM that needs the fight and do two runs, getting their healing support as backup just in case things get flaky.
