Hi there. Currently lvl 21 whm/blm and im in quifim islands. Something...interesting happend last night. Im in a pt and heres how the conversation goes...

Me>>Hey guys im gonna get off in about 25 minutes, really tired..

(While shutting down i die and get hp to lower jueno.)

(After checking AH sales i shut down, but in the meantime..)

the way i see it, if the facts are as you stated them, you are at no fault at all.

1.you communicated that you needed to leave 30 minutes in advance.

2.you even went so far as to find a replacement, a practice/courtesy i dont usually see until a little later on the levelling treadmill.



so, if this is how it actually went down, i think the other guy was out of line.

I tend to just laugh them off as idiots.

You did everything + more. I hate when people blame the Whm if someone dies, granted if the Whm stands there and does nothing then you have a valid reason but if a member dies in a party it's the whole parties fault not anyone in particular.

Like I said just try to push it aside when I party 95% of the time the people are really polite, friendly and are fun to hang around with.

Seriously. You couldn't have done anything to prevent him from being a stupid jackass. I had a party yesterday where I gave 2 hours notice that I was going to leave. And then I gave notice again at 1 hour, and at 30 minutes, etc. When I left, this one guy in the group was still surprised. >.>;

So, not your fault. Blist him and move on.

Take it as a compliment, what i read into this is that you did a good job in the party and the repalcement sucks. They can't seem to grasp that you have a life outside of FF and can't be on 24/7 like some people are. If in doubt blist for insults, sounds liek tehy are spitting their dummy out because their not winnign all the time now. I have ahd that with my war with getting a abusive tell because I so happened to want to go to bed (at 12am on a work night, need sleep you know!!) this reason was because the aprty leader didn't level (nor did I but hey I'm in no rush)

that's just a perk of being the designated healer ... you're expected to be the hp slave and death is all your fault, even if you had no control over it.

Like whem a BLM busts out a -ga spell to magicburst, forgetting that we're camping in a sea of non-aggro mobs that, while individually are only Tough...there are about ten of them within range.

Totally the whitemages fault. *nods sagely*




Oh and Icemage, correct me if I'm wrong in this, but if someone does such a thing as mentioned above, and is NOT cured (or regen-ed), aggro will NOT transfer over to any other party member, correct?

It happened three minutes after you left the party, you were dead, and you were in a completely different zone.

It depends on the mob. Take Wingrats in Garliage Citidale for instance. If the puller pulls a Siege Bat and Wingrats link, the puller can run to zone, but the Wingrats will attack anyone sitting down, even if they havn't healed the puller or done anything to the mob or any mob.

Lol i wanted to give this post a couple of days to seep in and it looks like it has. I enterd the party and the same guy was in it (5/6) before i entered. He started rambling about how bad i was, we fought a few monsters and the pt ldr kicked the dude. I couldnt stop laughing.



Side question while im here, how can i get a sig from paint over to here. cant quite figure it out.

I thought that was a natural mob aggro behavior. I mean, bats will attack people who are resting, everything else thrown out the window. And that ENTIRE hallway is within their 'walk' range, so the despawning patch doesn't exactly work for them, or at least not very effectively.


...the question came up because my post made me consider the ethics of preserving five people and one of them myself by refusing to cure whatever individual suddenly escalated the situation out of my ability to control. I mean granted, I am sentencing them to death alone and cold staring at my ample MP bar while I turn a blind eye to what may well have been an innocent mistake, but then there's the consideration that I can r2 one person and he can sit aside and rest off weakened while the party ticks on, instead of having to reraise myself (assuming I had RR up), spend six or seven minutes just getting everyone else who died raised, and then waiting another six or seven minutes to get weakness off everyone and rested/healed back to full.

Unfortunately, infallably while I'm making this decision, the PLD (or blm, rdm, brd...) will cure their comrade (and since it's usually the PLD, and if it's the PLD, he's got active regen FROM ME) that brings the fight right immediately to my doorstep and I have no choice but to attempt salvaging a situation any sane person would abandon as hopeless and make like a monkey for the nearest zoneline.
