Need help with Lv22 WHM

I wont go into details, but i need to Lvl a WHM from LV22 to something considerably higher, and i have absolutly no past experience using a White Mage or magic user in general.

So, basically I need to know everything that a Lvl 22 WHM should know.... Right about now. Mostly macros, spells to use, and when. I've got the armor/weapons/sub job and what not down. And yes, I know how to use cure.

Fill me in.

1. Buy cookies and eat them. They help with mp.

2. Protectra/shellra before doing battle.

3. Cast regen on the tank and possibly anybody else who constantly gets hit (if at all).

4. Use Cure, but don't spam it. The main idea is to keep the tank in the yellow or higher.

5. Use Cure 2 in case of an emergency. Emergency being that the tank is getting in the red and he's in dire need of health.

6. If a blm or another melee gets aggro, throw them a cure if the tank's health is in good standing.

7. If tank can't hold hate and you're constanly being forced to heal other people. (example: Everytime a blm nukes, he gets aggro), leave party or find another tank.

8. If the shit really starts to hit the fan and your party members are all in the red and you have mp problems, cast benediction. Keep in mind though, once you cast it, you will most likely not be able to get rid of the hate, so unless the mob is almost dead, you will most likely get killed.

You should have cure 3 by now and you'll soon be at the point where you'll be using cure 2, and cure 3 for backups, and cure 1 won't be needed very much.
If the tank loses hate for a short time and someone gets smacked, just toss a regen on them, unless your tank is in trouble. They're not in any danger from one hit as long as the tank gets hate back, and Regen is cost effective and keeps you, the whm safer because it gets you less hate.

When you hit lvl 25 and pt in jungles, try to stay out of range of AoE sleep. This goes for the mandies you fight and for mandies other parties fight. If you're asleep, then things get hairy. If you need to enfeeble, <bt> is your friend... like /ma Paralyze <bt>, or /ta <bt> then /ma Paralyze <t>

If you have the time, getting a pilgrim's wand from west sarutabaruta is helpful. Not necessary, but it helps you get mp back faster.

At level 22, it's not the best idea to constantly use cure 2, just yet. Maybe alternate between cure 1 and cure 2, depending on the tanks health.

Actually at level 22 he has access to Regen, which should be his healing spell of choice at that level. Much more MP-efficient, and waaaay lower enmity rating.

Like I said before, regen is the top priority and you should only really have to cast cure 1's on the tank.

I also think you should be using juices i.e pinapple etc. to keep your mp refreshing to minimise downtime.

Tough call. Which do you think is more important: increased maximum mp or auto-refresh?

Personally I prefer the juices method over the cookies method it seemed to give the party less down time in the dunes.

Max MP is overrated most of the time. Refresh effect from juices makes a huge impact at those low levels, when spells cost virtually nothing to cast. Of course, new players rarely have the resources or cooking skill to make those juices, which means they're generally not an option at that point.

But for established players, it's definitely a worthwhile thing to do.

EDIT: And since when can you not use cookies AND juices?

I use cookies and juice, and I'm an Elvaan WHM, so I'm not even working with that large of an MP Pool (not that I don't have as much MP+ gear I can short of astrals at that level). It works out perfectly fine for me. I've never felt like I didn't have enough MP.

What if he did? At least he's making the effort to learn job basics first instead of getting five people killed repeatedly while fumbling through it.

Well, I guess you're cool with people buying accounts; we'll have to part ways on that issue.

Could you go to a forum and start playing competently as a 22 WHM in Quifim?

Let's not jump to conclusions. Buying accounts is against the terms of service, and thus is not fit content for discussion on these forums. However, it's possible that he has inherited the character from someone else (maybe a friend playing on the same account quit, or gave him the character). Please stop making assumptions.

Personally, I wonder why anyone would pick up a level 22 character, gift or otherwise, as any job. It's not that much work or time to get to level 22, and losing out on learning the basics is bad, but whatever works I suppose.
