Rdm sub

So I am bringing my WHM to 37 for rdm/ and smn/ would a rdm sub be alright just till 37? I think it would be dumb to level a sub for a sub. I never plan on using whm except for raises and teleports. So... advice?

I've seen a lot of whm/smn's, the MP really rocks, and when I go back to whm after I finish blm, I'm going to lv smn to 37 1st.

Whm is not that bad to lv either, parties are fast, and with regen (I,II,III) You'll save on alot of mp.. Also, Lv to at least lv38 (for altep...and w/e other tele comes at that lv). The last one after that is lv42 or something.

I think he's asking about WHM/RDM up to level 37.

For that, I personally think /RDM is the BEST sub for WHM up through level 29. At 30 things get a little sketchy with /BLM gaining Elemental Seal vs. the mostly useless Fast Cast, but /RDM is still an acceptable subjob at that level, and can easily carry you to level 37.

I personally took whm/rdm to lvl 50 until i could /smn. I did however still cap rdm at 37 just in case I wanted another option.

I took WHM to 38 mostly as /SMN, sometimes /BLM. As RDM, a BLM sub would be very helpful for you, and I think BLM is a better sub for WHM than RDM due to the extra MP.

Extra max MP is meaningless. Want a bit of extra MP? Bring a hi-ether or some juices. They don't cost much, and are useful in emergencies.

Or for that matter, go buy yourself some more +MP gear if you're that concerned about it. There's tons of it out there now.

/SMN sub pre-50/25 is only if you're lazy. It offers zero useful spells and abilities, aside from maybe 30 points of total MP difference which you could make up for by eating a pie or actually going out and buying some +MP gear.

Eventually you might want /BLM for RDM anyway, but yes, you should be able to get WHM/RDM to 38 without problems. You might get a few people telling you you should go WHM/BLM instead, but I doubt anyone will kick you just for that.

If you're planning to use it for raises and teles you'll probably want /blm for warp anyway. I'd level it for versatilities sake if nothing else.

Personally, at 75, I love WHM/RDM for soloing for organs in sea. I've soloed everything in the lower level areas (DCish at 75) except for the UFOs. Now, what the above poster said about /BLM is true for warp. But to be honest, there is little difference in subs at that level. You can use anything that will give you MP, and it will be effective. To be quite honest, at 75, it doesn't make too much of a difference MP wise. I think there's like a ~30 (base) MP difference between /BLM and /SMN at 75. It's even lower at those levels. At 37, you'll probably only be missing out on 5-7MP. So go for it, if anyone says you're a noob. Explain to them that it's a very minimal difference.

Also, with that, at level 30, you can use a Warlock's Earring, which is pretty cheap, and gives hMP+1.

Personally I wouldn't do it, I'm a perfectionist. But it doesn't seem so bad. Just don't suck is all I have to say.

Oh yeah, you might get labeled as a noob if you do it. Just be careful.

Personally, I'd level up BLM and WHM for subbing to RDM anyways... not having both subs available is pure laziness in my opinion.

I played WHM/RDM for a little while. I got so used to the faster casting that I had to re-train my timing when I went back to WHM/BLM!
