Heals get resisted a lot now. It was updated very long ago.

Cure is treated as an offensive magic (a "nuke") when used against undead.
Not exactly. ES heal doesn't work, neither does lowering resistance to light, neither does it MB I believe with Light.

    It's a tack on.

And if you want to see Cures do more damage to undead, Divine Seal then Cure. Fun stuff.
DS Cure has no extra effect on undead. DS only applies when a healing spell follows it, and Cure isn't a healing spell when it's casted on undead.

I didn't say whether or not ES would work with it (never tried this honestly). I just said that the game treats it as a nuke. Cure becomes a completely different spell when used offensively.

Cure no longer follows the typical Cure rules when it's used as a nuke; for instance, the 30 HP soft cap on Cure 1 doesn't exist when used as a nuke, I typically get numbers around 55 when I use it on various weak undead. In addition to this, bear in mind that a level 75 could conceivably cap Healing Magic skill by PLing Dunes parties all day. When used offensively though, Cure will eventually stop giving skillups on weak targets; you need to find stronger undead to cast on in order to keep skilling up, much like with other offensive magic skills. I'm even willing to bet that "+% Cure potency" items have no effect when Cure is used offensively, although it's hard for me as a RDM to really test this (I'm thinking that Light/Apollo's Staff would still help an offensive Cure though, by 10% and 15% respectively).

And, I have MB'd Cure on a Fusion skillchain before; logic would dictate that it works on Transfixion and Light as well.

All this is stupid though, because Banish works way better on undead.

        Re: What does Barsleepra do?

StarvingArtist posted a vid a few years back of him self SCing a Lich as a WHM - Hexa, Icarus Wing, Black Halo, Light and then MB with Cure V.

Also Cures really do act strange when used offensively. I was having a go at Curing Reserve Draugars (DC - T) the other night in Arrapago Reef and my Cure I was damaging for 42 (take note, way above the solid cap for Cure I) with only Light Staff, no Nobles. Cure II was doing something like 112 and then the higher level Cures were doing crap all.

barsleepra and barsleep work very well when the mob is Ep or lower.
I let a sheep in the dunes beat on me to test this. without barsleep, it would put me to sleep every now and then, and with it, never. It also depends on how hi your enhancing stat is... since most people have it very very very low, working more on healing stat.
it wasn't me... no wait... it was.
