Somebody didn't have their coffee this morning.

However, I do agree with you. WHM's gear isn't a problem. They (we) get a lot of really good gear. The problem with high level WHMs is that a RDM can usually do the same job, making it possible for another melee to take the WHM's place in a party.

As for the new benediction... I looked at it, said "neat" and moved on. It doesn't require me to jump through hoops to use it. I'll take whatever upgrade I can get.

So you think people who are 70+ are the only people with valid concerns or opinions about their jobs?

Do you think that any improvements made to the WHM class after 70+ are irrelevant and inconsequential and show no effort on Square-Enix's behalf to "throw the WHM class a bone"?

Just because you aren't 70+ yet?

        Because that's what she's implying.

Her:"SE NEVER gives whm anything good!"
Me:"Hey, there's all this really cool white mage gear that SE added to the game"
Her:"I'm not that level yet, doesn't count. Gimme gear I can use. Mememememe."

Do you seriously expect the developers to go: "Oh, look, it's that whm on so-and-so server again, we had this great idea for a level 70+ item but she's only level 47... hmmmm, let's make this item usable by ALL whm at level 47 instead!"

Whining about a beneficial change to benediction is about the most pointless thing I've ever come across on these forums so far.

I have no opinion on those changes, as my whm is only level 40, nor do I specifically defend the OP's position. I'm simply taking issue with the fact that you used the poster's level to imply that it was unreasonable for her to have an opinion or to expect change within her job that she could observe herself.

There's entirely too much "level to 75 and then come back with an opinion" going around. The game doesn't start at level 70, and how people below that level percieve the game and their jobs is important too.

No, you're thinking of world of warcraft, where anyone who isn't level 60 doesn't have a valid opinion.

This is quite the opposite. Someone that extrapolates too much from their current situation and goes "OMG this class sucks! All our JSE sucks! Square-Enix doesn't give us anything!"

Sure, you can have an opinion about it, but that doesn't mean it's valid.

Here's another perspective: Let's say you had a ninja who only levelled it to 36, he's only got utsusemi ichi and therefore he comes to the conclusion:

-Ninjas can't tank! OMGZ, they only have one blink spell and it takes forever to cast! And it lasts all of 3 hits! And they can't hold hate with anything other than provoke! All our other spells are useless cause they take forever to cast!

            Then goes:

Why can't SE give us a blink spell that makes us more efficient tanks? I hate SE! They never give us anything!

            Someone replies:

You get Utsusemi Ni at level 37.

            They go:
"That's fine and well, but I can't use it yet. What I'd like is a job specific blink spell that I can use. S-E sux."

That's a rather extreme example, but exactly what it sounds like to me. You can't define an entire class' JSE just based on what you're able to equip so far. It's not exactly like other jobs even get great JSE before level 70 either... Where's the JSE that black mage can equip before black cloak? (level 67)
I believe most sigs are like the people they represent - useless, loud and obnoxious.

All opinions are valid. Not all arguments to support the opinion are. You don't need to have experience to make an opinion, but to have a good supporting argument you do. Let whoever think what they want about whatever. Their opinions will change with time, and experience. All preaching really does is annoy people. Just let it go, and soon they'll come around.

It would appear that I set Locus off.

I feel that I have a valid point. It would be nice if whm actually got some decient JSE prior to lvl 70.

You make the point about Blm JSE. Thier lvl 50 JSE is actually Quite good. +4 to Conserve MP can be very usefull.

was there really A need for this. I mean i was just presenting my opinion, like I said before there is no need for attacks. A simple "I disagree" would have served a similar function, and it wouldn't have been as insulting.

I'm sorry, I was perhaps a little ticked off at Canada and shipping dates, and there really was no need to be insulting. This is not an excuse, but please accept my apology.

                      Re: New Effect on Benediction

Actually there's a fair amount of WHM-specific or might-as-well-be-WHM-specific JSE prior to level 70, it's just either enormously difficult to get or enormously expensive.

Noble's/Aristocrat's Tunic is quite possibly one of the strongest pieces of job-specific gear in the game (in fact, the only gear pieces that I think really rival or exceed it for sheer power and utility are Black Belt for monks, a few specific pieces of AF2, as well as some of the completed relic weapons).

Healing Staff at level 55, as overrated as it is, still has enormous utility if you have one. 50MP at the start of a mission or NM fight is still very nice (particularly for short but intense battles like BCNM60s, Omega/Ultima, etc.).

Crow/Raven gear at level 50 might as well have "WHM" painted all over it. While RDMs and BRDs can also use it, they typically don't generate the sort of enmity that WHMs can.

                        Re: New Effect on Benediction

Nitpick: Bene already removed Nightmare; it is not broken on damage but cures *do* remove it like normal sleep.

It's also an emergency Silena, if you don't have any echo drops. If only SE would make 2hr's immune to paralyze, it'd be a Paralyna too.

It can be used as Stona even if you're too low level to *have* stona (and similarly for any other -na spell, or erase).

Removing Doom and Terror would indeed be great. Anyone tested yet? Mortal Ray and Jettatura mean you don't need dynamis or HNM to test it.

I've mentioned the merit of Nobles tunic before, it is really nice, I want one, really bad, only problem is that it is next to impossable to get unless you are Extreamly efficient at camping NMs, are in an HNMLS or have an unlimited amout of time.
I had always felt that Healing staff was weeker than light staff. and it is't Whm Exclusive either.

I did appresiate the Raven Gear as well it was a real nice addition to my Gear lvl 50-58. Never puled hate with it. also if I did pull hate, I evaded quite a bit. But I Always saw it as Solo gear for a Thf, or mnk.

                            Re: New Effect on Benediction

Healing Staff IS WHM-specific. I have one; it's WHM 55 only. As far as utility goes, Light/Apollo Staff is completely functional, but again - 50 MP is a free Haste or Regen II plus some extra on the top without dipping into your "main" MP pool. Not a huge utility in XP parties - very useful in mission/BC/NM battles, much more so than Light/Apollo Staff.

Noble's Tunic is occasionally purchasable, but it's extremely expensive since your only real sources for Shining Cloth are a very expensive and risky desynth (Vir Subligar), Kirin, or King Behemoth.

Well, 50mp is nice for me and I would love to have it, but I also go full MP set up on my WHM. The problem is that healing is typicly done with a darkstaff, so that 50mp isn't there half the time. And that to me at least makes the healing staff worthless in an XP party since I can get the +10% cure on the Light/Apollo as well as additional stat boost at an earlier level.
