In my PT a few days ago in bibiki bay there was this WHM who sit the entire fight and only stood up to cure V when ninja got into orange....
no silena, no prana, no *other* spells at all.
we all thought he was some kind of bot but he talked... so...

Heh, I have this problem but in reverse.

I cast regen on the puller as he comes in if needed, if not it goes on the tank, but as soon as someone drops to yellow here lately, (even if they have regen on) the blm will stop nuking and stop curing like Im not doing my job.

Its annoying because I have things under control and usually a regen and a cure 1 will get them back into white, yet they pop off a cure 2.

I don't stand there keeping everyone at 100% mp for obvious reasons...mp conservation. I just don't get it. To me, I feel like the other mage thinks I'm not doing my job so they have to do it. Maybe they had a mage like the mage described.

I do think a lot of the problems with bad whms like this is they were most likely pled through the dunes and possibly qufim. I think overall the one who hurts the most in a pled party is the whm as they don't learn the important things they need to learn. (It would explain why they were meleeing.)

Welcome to the game, Mindpower!

I had a BLM that kept healing our pld to full in a party not long ago. I gave Regen to the paladin and sat down, allowing her to cure herself until I saw either MP dropping to about half, or HP dropping to about a third, or having a status ailment inflicted on her.

I'd help cure when her MP got down a little, I'd drop a Cure III on her if her hp was too low for comfort or she kept getting interrupted (then sit back down), and remove the ailment when necessary.

I know I did my job well because nobody died, she started every fight with most of her MP, and she lost hate one singular time in a four hour plus party due to the chainnuking/healing blm. I actually had enough spare MP that I could cast Reraise in the middle of a fight and come nowhere close to any death.

Not even a linked siege bat made us sweat, it was probably the sweetest party I was ever in.

P.S. come to think of it, there was one death when the pld couldn't get enough hate due to having nobody with lost HP to cure, thanks in part to the blm.

Sadly lv30-37 is still completing a subjob. I'll bet they don't give a crap about lv whm ^.^ I know I was happy to be done with it (for the time being). So maybe they don't care.

What race was he? Galka? Low mp.. need to rest in mid-fight?

Where were you at in the jungle? by zone entrance or in one of the tunnels (due to many parties)? Cause honestly let's face it... we've all got hit by mandies sleep at one point or another. Chyte happens.

I'm not defending by any means, but "To err is human", everyone has bad nights (where they can't seem to 'feel the swing of the party'), and if everyone made a "Holier than thou" post when someone screwed up.. wheeew!!

How many post would you have about you? I would have some.... and somedays people would still write about my "accidents" (tho few and very far between...still happens tho)

I'm relatively new at whm, I took it to 20 6 months ago and restarted recently. And I've gained 7 levels since. In my first few pt's I readily told to leader about my time away from the job and we took it a little easy till I was with it . But what amazes me is the huge difference you get pt to pt. I was feeling confident and then I got 2 pt's in a row that had me thinking of giving up the job, ppl were dieing, I was gettting hate, coulda used benediction on a five minute timer. Then, I get a pt that is amazing. I could buff/debuff/regen/heal/rest/debuff/heal and end the fight with 100+ mp. (I play a mithra and focus on mp+ and regen equip.) I had enough mp to do raises without mp worries. I almost thought I was going to find my name here as "worst whm ever", so bad whm? maybe bad pt? just sayin somehting...

I've been in parties (even as a 65 blm), that was literally like pulling teeth. Every melee doing his / her own thing, mages doing their own things... just slow exp. Then when it's finally over *thank god*, you get another party, and Boom!! chain 5's with 400mp left. It's happened.

Or replacing someone who needs to leave the cruddy party, so you replace them... and Boom!! great exp. Was it because that replaced person did not know wtf they're doing? Who knows...but I'll never be that egotistical to say it.
