But, I'm willing to forgive her this one time. Only because she's a newbie to the game. However, even an LS mate of mine told me that by the time you hit 30, you should've gotten your ---- together and not be *this* bad at your job. Yes, he was also there, watching our party, because he couldn't believe just *how bad* a WHM could get.
First of all, you never stand near the party while fighting mandies! It's just common sense, especially in her case, fighting them for the past 5 levels (She was 30 before the PT last night) should've indicated as much.
Secondly, why melee? There's only two mages in this PT. Her and myself (RDM)
Thirdly, you do not choose to rest for MP 1/3 of the way in a battle. This is when things actually pick up and you're suppose to be standing up and doing your job! She was resting for MP when the fight began and then standing up 3/4 of the way in to catch up on healing... but luckily for her (and unfortunately for me) I ended up doing her job anyway...
Fourthly, MP conservation is a must at these levels! Cure III to heal 60~80 HP loss and Cure II for 40~60 is a bit excessive, don't you think? Using Curaga to wake people up when the mandy is 95% of the way dead and no one really needs that kind of healing? Sheesh...
Point number five, pay attention! If I cast regen on the backup NIN (2x NIN in party) and the main NIN just provoked off the backup NIN so that the backup can recast Utsusemi and the HP loss is less than 100, do not go pounding in Cure II! This makes my 20 mp go to waste and more importantly, that's also another 24 mp that the WHM can't afford to waste.
Point number six, when mandy uses Dream Flower and all the melee are sleeping, please stand up and cast cure to wake them up when the RDM says, "I have 2/306 mp left." Do not spam chat with the, "No more Mp! 93/298" message in chat. You'll look like a complete fool.
Point number seven, when veteran player THF pulls the Goblin Bee and zones out 2 other Yuhtunga Bee aggro and says, "Grab the gob! I can take care of this" you listen to him and return to your duties as main healer. Do not go, "OMG! Zone... we zone!" while the party is engaged on the Goblin Pathfinder and the RDM is busy trying to enfeeble the goblin. When the THF returned to us to help out with the Goblin, he asked, "Why is the RDM main healing?"
Point number eight, even if it is only a game, if you insist on partying with other players, at least make a concerted effort that you care about your actions and how you interact with others. Instead of standing around semi-AFK many times during the course of the evening spamming your LS chat while the party needs the main healer's attention.
