Maat fight @ 69?

Fellow Whms,


In 30k exp I will be lvl 69 and I was wondering if that was a pretty safe lvl to fight maat? I heard somewhere that at lvl 70 Maat can use Ashuran Fists. If this is the case I am wondering if fighting @ 69 is safer? Thanks for your input

He will use it at any lvl. You are better off waiting until 70 for the jse earring with -30% dmg latent effect (need yellow hp).

WHM's Maat fight is one of the easiest. I know quite a few people who won handily at level 66, since, unlike all other jobs, a WHM does not need to actually do anything to Maat except survive(so skill levels and stats generally don't figure into things except the rate at which you take damage... and you WANT to take damage).

The Medicine Earring at level 70 is a nice safety valve though. Since you're so close, you might as well just wait the extra level.

Yeah, I did it at 66 with no problems at all. But like Icemage said it's a good idea to wait out until Lv70 so you can wear the JSE earring - you're close enough, no harm in waiting a bit more. That, along with an Earth Staff and a Medicine Ring should see you through easily enough.

I did it at 66. Just go in with all the defense and evasion gear you can get ahold of, tank food, potions, ethers, and echo drops, and your 2hr ready. Make sure to go in with Blink, Stoneskin, Aquaviel, and Protect (Shell is optional IMO). Get his attention, but don't melee him, as the more TP he has, the more WSs he can do. I managed to pull it off with him only using 1 WS (and it wasn't Asuran Fists, thankfully).

Anyway, just the strat I used, and I had no problem. (Well, first try I lost because I forgot to Aquaviel >.<, but 2nd time I won.)
