    Does MND effect enhancing spells?

    The duration? The buff?

    I heard MND effects Stoneskin's HP. Does it effect any other enhancing magic?

    I think all Bar- spells are effected in strength by mnd and enhancing skill, but other than stoneskin that's it. Not sure about phalanx, but all others have a fixed effectiveness and duration.

      I don't remember seeing mnd affect bar spells. I do know it affects stoneskin, but I believe that is it. No change on haste.

        I was going to start a new thread because I almost didn't see this one when I searched.

        I've been doing a lot of Sneaking around lately looking for Coffer chests for my AF quests. So keeping Refresh, Stoneskin, Sneak, and/or Invisible on me has raised my Enfeebling 4 whole points to Lv.124. It's still way behind the cap, but what exactly does this effect?

        I know it effects En-elemental spells, as well as the three Elemental Spikes spell. I've heard word that it effects how much damage is eaten by Stoneskin, and it effects Phalanx. But is that it? I recentely wondered did it effect Regen. I didn't know if Regen always gave back 5HP a tick, or was that just my Enhancing magic kicking in.

        I also bought the Enhancing Torque for the hell of it. Wasn't very expensive, so I bought it. What would that be useful for?

          For WHMs, Enhancing Magic affects:

          Barspell potency (+1 resistance per 5 levels of skill)
          Stoneskin strength (+3 damage absorbed per 1 level of skill, up to 350 max, see my thread on Stoneskin testing if you want the actual formula)

          That's pretty much it. Unless you cast Ice/Blaze/Shock Spikes or Phalanx off a RDM or BLM subjob, I don't remember anything else affected by Enhancing Magic other than spell interruption for enhancing spells.

            I may be crazy, but I seem to remember Haste lasting for a shorter duration when I first got it at 40. That was a long time ago, though. Some clarification would be nice.

              Haste is always a set duration (150 seconds, same as Refresh, if I recall... I always seem to need to recast it on Ninjas at the same point of a Refresh cycle).

                  Regen is also fixed. Always heals around 125HP (barring any +regen merits or AF2 body), so it lasts for about 75 seconds.

                  Regen II and III are somewhat shorter, I think they last 60 seconds.

                    I ~think~ Haste may depend on who you're casting it on. I was helping a LS member get his Utsusemi casting down while trying to tank. I started casting Haste on him, and noticed it wore off pretty quickly. Lasting maybe 60 seconds, if that. There are number of spells that appear to follow this same trend. Protect III on a Lv.10 person doesn't last more than 2 minutes it seems, yet on a Lv.55 person it lasts quite a while. Just something to consider from things I've noticed.

                      Pretty sure thats to get rid of power leveling in that respect. Do you know how powerful it would be if you can Haste/ProIV/ShellIV and all that on a lvl 10 and it lasted fully??

                        about aquaveil, sneak, invis and so on i`m not sure, the lenght maybe can be affected

                        i guess it has no effect on haste, regen, refresh, teleport, erase, warp etc..

                          Not true in the case of barspells or enspells. Enspell damage is linked directly to Enhancing Magic, as are barspells. Silence only gains accuracy from MND, like all white magic enfeebles (the only enfeeble known to benefit in potency from MND is Slow).

                              Protect and Shell durations are respective to the level of the Protect/Shell spell. Meaning that, because you get Protect IV at Lv63, if you cast Protect IV on someone Lv63 or higher it will last the full 30 minutes. If you cast it on someone Lv62 or lower the duration will be reduced. I noticed that when levelling in these ranges where you get a new Protect/Shell spell, the people who haven't caught up yet have their Prot/Shell expire about 30 seconds to a minute faster than everyone else.

                              I do seem to remember casting Protect IV on someone who was around Lv10 or so just to see the duration and it expired in minutes, maybe five to ten or so.
