    Re: Elvn whm?

I'm beginning to think there IS a soft cap on Cure V. It's very very high, but it's there. I'm having trouble boosting my C5 above 790ish average with +20% cure potency, which puts the theoretical soft cap for C5 at somewhere around 660 or so. I know I see very little in terms of improved potency when I load up on Healing Magic, so much so that I've completely written off the AF1 Healer's Mitts for anything except 60-cap events.

I've seen a screenshot of Whren from Midgard pushing hers to 850ish. As far as I know that was done with MND equipment.. but I can't for the hell of me find the post right now.

Undoubtedly done with an assist from Lightsday. I've done an 856 C5 a few times during Aurora or Lightsday conditions (really need to spend more time in Al'Taieu and get enough organs to get the light obi... but meh lol).

          Re: Elvn whm?

yeah lightsday helps a lot, another thing i've noticed is that I get a better percentage of cure boosts on lightsday with my Apollo's staff than i did with my normal light staff (possibly a hidden effect?) Like back when i was poor(er) and i had my lightstaff I might get a boost maybe every 30 or 40 cures, but since i've bought my apollo's staff its like every 15-25... anyone else notice this???

Most of the time, though, you end up spending what you can regenerate from resting and Refresh/Ballad/Auto-Refresh effects and staying within that "budget". This mp-recovered-over-time figure doesn't change between the various races, it's dependent only on gear, subjob, food, and the effects of other party members, so once you hit that point of equilibrium, all WHMs are on basically equal footing in an XP PT.

You want to know what the real secret to success pre-40 for WHM is? It's not /SMN. It's not even /BLM. It's Cooking. Go level cooking to 40+, buy some melons in Rabao and juice your way up. 24 bottles of melon juice will get you past any awkward moments when used properly, and uses only 6 inventory slots if you have the skill to make them on-site.

1 bottle of melon juice = 2 mp/3 seconds for 135 seconds = 90MP. That's more than /SMN gives, and costs about 600g to make. If you REALLY want to excel as a low-MP race, juice is worth more than any sub or any gear you can use.

I agree when you have someway to replenish your MP, your MP tank doesn't matter at much, however commonly that doesn't happen until a BRD or RDM shows up in your PT at the correct level. However I do admit that cooking some juices up until a form of MP recovery is there is the BEST way.

I still believe though a combination of all.

                Re: Elvn whm?

Hmm.. actually I pulled off a 865 Cure V on Lightsday myself last night, so my current base has to be somewhere around 665. I'll have to go do some more research on this I guess. Need to find a RDM and a BRD with time to kill...
