  • Go finish your Chains of Promathia if you have a 75 job!

Finished CoP mission 8-4 a couple days ago, finally got around to wrapping up the ending cutscenes last night.

My reward for finishing all 60-some-odd missions:

    Tamas Ring
    Lv30 All Jobs
    MP+15~30
    INT+2~5
    MND+2~5
    Enmity-3

The ~ indicate that the stat varies with your current main job level. So +2 at level 30, up to +5 at level 75.

Minimum job level requirements for WHM to complete all CoP missions is roughly level 70+, the closer to 75, the better, and it's best if you have a second job of at least level 60 as backup for missions in which WHM are not as useful.

However, I think the above reward speaks for itself.

There are similar rings for tanks and melees (you can only choose one, so choose carefully, and choose wisely!). The tank version is Sattva Ring HP+15~30, VIT+2~5, AGI+2~5, Enmity+3. The melee version (arguably the best and most unique of the 3) is Rajas Ring STR+2~5, Dex+2~5, Subtle Blow+5, Store TP +5.

i suppose but that's so incidental it just seems like a waste of an inventory slot, just for a little more TP. /sigh

how much more TP is +5 anyway? staff TP is kinda weird, sometimes i get 9 TP back from a hit and sometimes 10.

You'll find a lot of weapons were their delay will give you a variance of 1 TP. It's because the game records decimal position but doesn't display it, so some weapons actually get like 9.25 so on their 4th hit they'll get 10 instead of the regular 9.

Re: Go finish your Chains of Promathia if you have a 75 job!

I got my Rajas Ring yesterday, needless to say I'm a very happy drk=) Easily the best melee ring in the game.

About tp gain and store tp+, here is a simple breakdown. Our tp calculation is based on weapon delay and falls under 3 categories:

For weapon delay of 000 - 179, tp is fixed at 5 per hit
              For delay of 180 - 479, tp gain = [(Delay - 180) / 256] * 6 + 5
              For delay of 480 - 900, tp gain = (Delay + 480) / 80

Store TP+ works as a % modifier on the base tp returned per hit. In other words, if we have 'store tp'+5 such as from the ring, tp gain is now [weapon tp gain]*(1.05) per hit.

Let's take my Balin's sword as an example. It has a delay of 480 so it falls under the 3rd category.

              TP returned per hit = (480+480)/80 = 12

With Rajas ring equipped it now becomes:

              TP returned per hit = [(480+480)/80]*1.05 = 12.6

It's interesting to note that with this particular weapon, using the ring makes it possible to reach 100 tp in only 8 swings (12.6*8 = 100.8) where as before it took 9 (12*8 = 96, not quite enough). So depending on the weapon, a small 'store tp'+ bonus can make a significant difference.

(tp gain and store TP+ information gleaned from a samurai friend of mine named Bronxboy on Bismarck)

                thanks for the info

i'm always 91>100 TP with staff so i dont need a few more TP. (Hmmm.) i will have to think about this. i still haven't collected my ring from the BCAAA fight either, again i don't know which to pick

It's a really hard decision to make because the 3 ring choices are just SO good, and you can only choose one of them, ever (unless you make an alt and go through the very long CoP missions all over again).

Rajas has stats that just cannot be found in any other ring (Store TP and Subtle Blow). Tamas and Sattva have very awesome stats of their respective jobs, but it's no secret that Rajas can be used by the largest number of jobs. Of course, it is a personal choice. I picked Tamas because I love WHM and want it as my main despite having other jobs, but people who like multiple jobs will have to think the decision over more carefully.

Tarutaru rdm. Thinking about getting the Rajas ring because I enjoy soloing so much and it seems like that would help a lot. Think that's a valid decision?

Not that I'll have to worry about picking a ring for a looong time with my level and rank ...

Rajas Ring is a valid pick for any job that you plan to solo with, and is particularly good for DDs. Tamas Ring is a shoe-in for anyone who uses WHM or BLM as their main. Sattva Ring is for PLD, NIN or (sometimes) WAR tanks.

If your profile is accurate, you still have lots of time to think about it though, so don't sweat it just yet.

hmm, BRD and BLM and WHM are all my mains, so tamas seems like the obvious choice, but that rajas is too unique to pass up, i can get the +int (i'm a taru screw the mp) from other rings, and enmity, eh why get a once in an career ring for two jobs when there are 13 others i can play, and most will benefit from it. sound logic eh?
