  • It's not easy being green

I'm a lower level whm right now just trying to level it for a sub. But I don't have Cure II yet I'm just about there. The thing is I can't keep up taking lizzies out in valk and let the tank die a few times I felt really bad.

I guess the question is, will it get better after Cure II?

Well without data on your level and all there isn't much perspective to the situation, since you are stating you don't have Cure II yet I can only guess you are saying you are lv. 10?

If that is the case and the tank is dying while you are curing constantly on him, then either the tank needs some adjustments to his gear or your party setup needs an additional WHM for the area or a RDM, someone that can provide backup healing to assist.

Though I can't imagine anyone having trouble keeping a well equipped tank healthy enough unless they are waiting to long between Cures.

Cure II right at lv. 11 is not a smart move to use it right away. At best it's an emergency use if you seeing the situation getting bad and need something more of a major heal, but no way you can use it frequently or you'll end up the tank and dead very quickly.

Cure II is more useful the closer you get to having Cure III, around that time Cure III is your new emergency one and Cure II and Cure is more normal use.

At that lvl mw21, you really need to have a secondary healer. If you were the only mage in the pt, its no wonder that the tank died. It could also be that the tank just didn't have good enough equips. And if you had additional mages, someone was not picking up the slack.

Don't blame yourself. If you're working your tools right, but the tank still dies, it's not at all your fault. It could be an all-around bad party configuration, or simply a mob that is too strong. If you were the only person capable of curing in the party, it is not enough.

I think it's pretty important to have Cure 2. At level around 10 normally you'll be using cure 1, but at least once a battle the monster will uses their special or do a critical hit and that's where you need cure 2.

Before cure 2, it is vital to have 2 healers.

I did a lot of main healing as rdm in valkurm, and I remember it being extremely tough to keep up with lizzies without an very well equipped tank. Cure I heals for 30, lizzies hit for mid 20s and hit faster than you cast. When you first get it, Cure II is much less MP efficient than Cure I, but it gives you the ability to get back ahead of the curve or recover from bad situations. So yes, it will get better after Cure II.
