Well, over the course of my ffxi carrer I've found myself spending more and more time over on the forums at alla and killing ifrit, but since this is the first forum I ever found/used, I figured I should post this here on principle ^^.

It was a really exciting fight that cost me a small fortune to prepare for (by my standards at least), but it was definitely doable. I was terrified at the start since I'd read all these posts about people having problems with it, and people in game I've know have had some issues with him, but it went down quite well. I guess the trick (for whm at least, we have it sort of easy) is just to make sure you keep your mind about you. I had a few close calls and /silenced moments that would have killed me if i'd paniced to much. I didn't even have a macro set for the fight (mainly cause I was scared I'd miss type on a new macro set after spending 70 levels getting used to the layout of my normal set).

Anyhow, sorry for the ramblings. Just thought I'd put this up here to offer some encouragement to any up and coming white mages who may be lurking about. If anyone happens to have any specific questions about the fight for some reason, I'd be more than happy to answer them.

Nope, didn't beat your time.

Was quite easy, or not as hard as I imagined it would be. I had "tank" gear left over from my Paladin 66 (Chrysobyl Rings, Earth Staff etc), plus I gobbled down a Tavzanian Salad I think.

In short, VIT for t3h win (heh).

The trick is melee and self SC.

Need to get 4 more levels, then I think I can make time to level staff and club for the trial weapons. About 180k xp to go (which includes a nice buffer). I'll get there in the end. ^^
