Exactly. 500 gil doesn't even pay for a chocobo most of the time anymore. I make 5-10 times as much doing other things than I ever could doing teletaxi services, and without having to deal with often clueless people, and I'm sure most WHMs have come to the same realization.

OK I have to comment on this now, WHM on my server is trying to change the prices now on the Tele's and whenever I see them I flip them off. I'm sorry but all you are doing is charging more for doing NUTTIN!!! That's right Tele'ing is doing nothing. I know I used to do it myself.

BULLSHIT! Whm's are not losing time if all they do is sit in Freakin' Jueno, which they do constantly, and advertise their services. No you won't. You might do 2 or 3 free tele's before you give it up. Seriously, AH prices are dependent on the seller, bazaar prices are dependent on the seller, teleports are the same way.

Pay the WHM 500, 1000, 2000, 5000 or whatever he's selling his service for... or use an alternative means of transportation. It's simple. Get it? Do you understand?

Why do you think there are less WHMs teleporting nowdays? It's because it's just not worth it anymore at 500/1000 gil a pop. So most WHMs moved on... you might find better luck and more WHMs teleporting if the prices were higher. But, people are unwilling cause oh gee the whm only uses MP! Psh. If the general public is okay with shouting for 15+ minutes everytime they need a port, then don't bother paying 1000 for Dem. =P

Then we find alternate means of transportation. I'm sure there are a ton of WHM's that are willing to help out a friend here or there and still save gil. Personally if I wanted to make more gil than the other WHM's, I will just shout for the normal prices and not the inflated ones, GUESS who will get more business that way????????? more business = more money in long run. Simple rule there, lower prices = more ppl buying your services. Not to hard to figure that out.


And yes I will give free tele's if I am not busy, how dare you say I wont. you make me laugh. And no I will not pay what they want if its more than what it normally goes for or has gone for. Don't you understand that they are ripping ppl off charging more money. Sure there will always be ppl wanting Tele's, but if I am on and see that they are charging more than what should be charged, I will drop everything I am doing and switch to WHM and charge less. Lord knows I can always use the gil.

Don't charge inflated prices for teleports because it's absurd?

Then why is all the rest (AH, bazaar) inflated a couple 100%? That's equally or more insane. A tele-taxi provides a service, at their own price. Don't wanna pay it? Fine. Go chocobo (1k+ usually in jeuno, even more at the crags usually), outpost warp, or just hoof it. Hoofing it is completely free of charge by the way.

The taxi provides the service (teleport or d2) and the taxi determines the price.

And don't someone come cry to me for a teleport, cause I don't do it because it is in NO way viable for the time spent. Teleports are for myself, my close friends, my party and my linkshell, provided I am available (that is, not xp-ing, crafting or fishing).

Ripping people off? How about a 2M+ raise3 scroll from a little while back? Don't you call that ripping off? 500K+ Erase? You want a piece of our time, we charge you for our time what we think is a valid pricetag.

And who exactly determines what the price should be? Is that written anywhere? Cause I haven't found that stated anywhere yet.

HEHE you are funny Neelon. I really hate the greedy WHMs who say that I dont give tele's out to strangers unless they in my party. You belong to the many high lvl whm's that do that when you all hit 60's and up. Why is that? Is it a written standard to just blow off ppl needing help once you hit a certain lvl? Don't you remember when you were their lvl you too needed help getting around? WHM's absolutely suck with that kind of attitude. Thats why I see more and more ppl lvling whm just to get the tele's so they can be useful and we can forget all you greedy, stuck up, good for nothing whm's. Also about the AH prices and such, your attitude is like me saying this, if person A sells this for this much why can't I sell me services for higher too? Thats the same as this: Person A jumps off bridge, so why can't I jump too. Maybe you should think about being a leader and make a name for yourself instead of a follower and living in ppl's shadows. You are a cause of the the continuing economic problem on all servers. You should concentrate on trying to resolve this problem not be a part of it.

I agree, they dont have it as hard as RNG, NIN, PLD hell they only have to spend big gil on a few spells, just like BLM's do. On my server Sleepga2 is 400k, Erase is only 300+k and Raise 3 dropped under 500k. So dont tell me whms have it worse than Blms. AM spells most are over 100k, some 200k even. Water4 is over 200k Aero4 is over 120k and so on.

Call me stuck up, call me greedy, call me something else. You know how much I care? Nada, noppes, nothing, zilch. And where did I say I started doing that once I got to a certain level? I have always done that, because I have better ways of making money. This has nothing to do with my attitude towards other players, who I help whenever I can. As far as other people raising White Mage for teleports, do it, I won't stop you. Start doing teleport services, more power to you. And as far as the economic problems on the server being caused by stuck up, greedy, no good White Mages (like me you say), that is one of the most short-sighted statements I have ever seen. And I also never stated I wasn't helpfull, I just stated I don't tele-whore, I have better and faster ways to make money.

And yes, I most certainly do remember when I was a low level. I paid what the tele-provider asked for, be that 500 gil, 1k or more. It's his time I am taking to save myself time.

Simply put, we are NOT your teleport (or raise meh now lolol11!!!one for that matter) slaves, we have our own agendas and we pay for ingame pleasure for ourselves.

If we don't find it a reasonable price for the fare, why should we accept? It is our own time. Everything is inflated in prices, so naturally our services do to. Don't like it? {That's too bad.}

O, and White Mage does have quite a lot of expenses if you are serious about the job (dual astral rings, rse lvl 50/60 rope (lvl 50 Mithra is around 1M now on Gilgamesh I think), Erase (500K or so), Raise3 (500K now, 3M+ a month or 2 back). Every job has a lot of expenses if you are serious about it.

No one told you to be a Mithran WHM, Astral rings are not a necessity for WHM's in general, for mithran whms maybe and thats caused by the choice you made to be one. So dont sit there and say astral rings are a necessity. Taru whms have no need for them whatsoever.

WHMs are THE only class that gets them. SE needs to make R2 accessible by RDM's at 75 and PLD's at 75 too, that way there is a variety of classes we can bug. But nooooo they decided to come out with items that have reraise 2 or raise2, by the way I do believe one such item is WHM only, but could be wrong. The point I am making is this, blame SE for being constantly hounded for tele's and raises. But for heaven's sake dont raise the price for tele's because either/or the prices in the AH is inflated or your time is important and valuable. I say BS to the time part, if you are sitting and tele-whoring in Jueno then your time isn't worth spit. All you do is sit there and wait for customers big deal, so get off this our time is valuable crap.

Did I say Astrals or RSE rope is a necessity? No. Are the AM spells a necessity? Also not. They don't cause enough damage for the MP cost. Is a Gluttony Sword (played Paladin to 66 myself) a necessity? Are Sniper Rings or a Haubergeon a necessity? Hell no. Are they very usefull and damn nice to have? Hell yeah.

And I stay with the fact that I stated I only teleport myself, my friends, my party or my linkshell if needed, provided I have time. Why? Simple, I don't sit on my @$$ in Jeuno shouting for a teleport service. I got far better ways of making money. And there are more ways (a lot more) to help people (AF, job unlocking and Rank to name 3). I am NOT a teleport-whore. Never have been, never will be either.

And why should I blame SE for the raise and teleport requests? Do they say in the TOS or manual that if you are a White Mage to just accept those requests regardless? Do they say that you can bug us to no end with said requests/demands? No. Do you D2 every player and his/her grandma if they requested/demanded that? I don't think so.

And why is it that the rest can and has inflated in price, but the prices of teleports should stay the same? Are we a special kind of entity that aren't allowed to inflate prices? And don't give me crap that teleport prices can stop inflation, cause they can't.

Let me give you an example of what happened yesterday. I was waiting for a lvl 40 Warrior to do her AF weapon in Davoi, together with a THF73 from my LS. The warrior somehow forgot to activate the quest, so while we waited for her to get back we went through the Monastic Cavern and skill on some hapless EP Orcs. Out of the blue I got a tell with "raise". That's it, just the word raise. No "please", or "could you help me?", just a blatant "raise". Now I ignore tells of that kind. A minute later I get a tell "raise <pos>", again no "please" or whatever. Do people really expect us to just run over and do thy bidding? I think not. Now I usually am on /anon to prevent this kind of crap, but I equip 3/4 AF pieces, which provide me with a big, hidden, flashing an beeping sign saying "White Mage in the area". If I come around a player in my path, AND it is safe to do so, I will give the raise, and I don't even need or want money for that. Just providing a service when I can provide the service.

Do I play the game to be bombarded with teleport / raise requests? Do I even need to answer that question? Seriously? Do I need to?

My tele prices are the same base prices that they have always been. In fact, I got my arse chewed out a while back for not supporting a group of whm's by raising my prices with them. My basic reasoning was why should I gouge the entire population for what a select group are doing to prices? After a few weeks it all died down and prices stayed the same.

I compared farming to tele'ing when I needed to make money for equips and spells or crafting supplies. I found that I could make about the same or more tele'ing as farming. It totally depended on the population. But averaged out I made about 10k an hour on both on my whm. So sometimes I would farm when I felt like hitting stuff or it was slow in Jeuno. But when I need money, I need money. Tele'ing is the same as farming. Are you going to shout off your mouth at people who farm and raise the prices for drops? Nope never see someone raving about beehive chips or silk thread!

I spent over 3 days at 8 hours a day tele'ing to afford my spells and equips. My god it nearly drove me batty putting up with all the inconsiderate A-holes that try to cheat you or make you wait for them or the ones that join last and want their tele first because they are a higher lvl than the others and deserve it.....oy I could go on and on about the immaturity of some of the people I've ran into tele'ing. So I can either smack away on a bee that doesn't talk back or I can put up with 80% of my tele's being A-holes...hhmmm...

As far as prices for items, your on a good server. Come over to Midgard sometime. Check out the items on the AH. Triple or Quadruple the prices on many items. And yet people still only want to pay 500 gil for a tele and make me wait 15 minutes while they get food and signet...... Yes my time is money and wasting my time tele'ing on rude people just isn't worth it.
