the reason the briault isn't adding extra resistance to bar-element spells is because that's not what the effect does. bad wording kind of, but here's what it actually does.

you know how usually you do Barfira and gob bombs still do 700+ damage unresisted? well with this briault equipped it <INCREASES THE CHANCE TO RESIST> that element. it's by quite a lot too, although i have no numbers to back my word, only experience.

I don't think the boots are that great. Errant Feet is -20HP +20MP +5MND -2 enmity, and they're pretty cheap. To me it's like comparing shura kote to battle gloves... The kote is slightly better, but really not worth the money.

With my "massive" -8 enmity on HNMs/sky gods, I've rarely ever had a hate problem unless people were disconnecting or taking damage much faster than expected and dying suddenly. (Shouldn't happen...but it does sometimes.) Or the times when I'd get bored and just cast cure III/IV instead of cure V. (I did get a kick out of dying if the tank ever died...but I only really did this on sky gods.)

Personally, if I had to pick... I'd get the gloves and the pants. It would be a toss-up between which I would get first. I do believe the pants are better than the gloves when comparing them to each other. But I'm quite happy with my cheap mithra RSE panties. However, I don't much care for mithra RSE hands, and when I exp WHM I have to unstore all my WHM AF just to use the WHM AF hands.
(Yeah, I admit that my reason behind getting the hands is just purely out of laziness.)

Of course, take my opinions with a grain of salt... I have no plans on buying any of them, and if I were to get the cloth from an ENM, I'd probably sell it (and split the money, I would assume). WHM is probably the least equipment dependant job there is.

After further messing around with it I have to agree this is what it does. Again, like you, I don't have any conclusive numbers but have noticed people randomly dying significantly less due to resists failing. Most of my observations have come from meandering around Hu'Xzoi and Ru'Hmet dealing with Core Meltdown.

Square really do need to change the wording on it...

Yeah, I feel sorry for RDMs there. That gear makes me want to claw my eyes out.

The worst part, for me, is knowing that the Wise gear is a lot of SMN AF parts...and I really like SMN AF looks. I was really surprised to see that they could ruin that look. >_>
