Raise III drops/rarity

R3 is now really really rare on Hades. Maybe one at the AH every 3-4 days.

It wasn't this way a month ago...

I think the best way to get the price of R3 down (or at least a way to get it into more WHM's hands) is to get the actual sources of it down.... which is where it gets interesting:

According to Mysterytour, R3 comes from three places: Kirin, Za'Dha Adamantking, and the BCNM30 with pots in Fei'Yin ("E-vase-ive Action"). This is the same thing that allakhazam says, and the same thing that ffxi.somepage.com says.... Well, somepage.com lists the manticore bcnm as well.

But the fine follks in KoolAid have done E-vase-ive Action a ton of times and never seen R3 drop. If it drops from Kirin at all, it's rare... and Adamantking is too rare a pop, let alone lucking out and getting a drop....

So where does it come from? Is there any other mob that people have seen it drop from? Any other BCNM? And why the sudden shortage: did drop rates change a month or two ago, or did people stop doing the E-vase-ive Action BCNM and move to Desert Swarm or some other BCNM for 'more valuable' drops like a claw? It's not as simple as "more people have whm70..." because the change in supply was seen across all server at about the same time and the shortage seems to be on all servers... there just aren't many for sale, when there were plenty a month ago.

Getting R3 to be a bit more commonly available will help a lot of people actually get raised. With only a couple sold each week on Hades, most WHM's won't have it, regardless of the cost.. there just aren't enough scrolls.... getting more in play would be a Good Thing...

Raise III is now 2mil on Midgard I had some friend say it drops from BCNM70 (kindred seals) and that they would use their seals to help me get the drop. So far I have saved up a little over 1mil in my Raise III fund.

yes, the 'evase-ive action' BCNM supposedly drops it.

This is 6 Pots in Fei'Yin... you attack one, and the other 5 vanish.

(For some reason the top of that page refers to it as a BCNM60.. it's not.. it's what used to be called BCNM30 for "30 kindreds" as opposed to the "level 30 cap" new meaning to BCNM30...)

I don't have 600 Kindreds to try to get R3 from that one....

So it sounds better to do Any Other BCNM For Gil (I have 104 Kindreds and 85 Beastmen... gotta love xp'ing 3 jobs... that's after using 90 kindreds on Desert Swarm...) and buy R3 with the proceeds.... except there are none on sale on Hades for the last 3 days.

Which leads me back to "where the heck did they all go?" The people who sold R3 a month or two ago.. where did they get it? How rare was it? Was KoolAid insanely unlucky in their drop rate? I do have enough gil to buy R3 even at the insane prices it's going for.. if it existed... but I'd rather be part of the solution and get the price down by increasing supply than help inflate the prices by buying it at the inflated prices.

(I'd LOVE to see people listing it for 1.2M, paying a hefty new listing fee... and having it returned as unsold...)

My understanding is that it used to drop from evasive action quite regularly, but SE removed it from the drops there a few months ago, which is why it's now extremely expensive. As my r3 was 15k about 5-6 months ago this seems pretty likely.

The only place I know of to get it now for sure is Kirin.

Why would they do that to us? No one will take on a WHM without Raise III, and how am I supposed to get it if nothing drops it?

1.1 million into my Raise III fund, last one sold for 800k but there haven't been any listed for two days now.

I remember doing BCNM E-vase-ive Action about a dozen times total on 3 trips and seeing Raise III drop one time out of those dozen attempts (~80% win), but my last trip out there was like 3 months ago, and thus it may have changed as per the above.

Perhaps one of the newer BCNMs has Raise III and just hasn't been discovered yet? I'm with Sylvanas, though, 2 million is an outrageous price to ask from WHM, who already have to shell out ridiculous prices for Raise II, Reraise II, and Erase.

We attempted the BCNM 30 a couple of days ago to see if we could get the drop, and we didn't. The price was pushing 1 mil on Ragnarok but I think it's climbing back down now. I didn't hear that they'd taken raise III away from this BCNM, can anyone confirm or deny this?

I can confirm R3 still drops from the pot BC. A WHM in my LS used all his seals on it to get R3 (luckily, he got it on his last), so he wouldn't support the high prices. (2million and rising on Midgard)

Honestly, your best bet is going to be BC30, unless you have friends in a HNMLS that are willing to give it to you they will put it on the AH for money at the normal AH price when they get it from Kirin and Za'Dha.

That BC30 is quite easy so it shouldn't be too big of a deal to do it over and over with a bunch of friends (you can beat it with 3 people if you have WAR/NIN, NIN, or MNK/NIN, refresher + another mage), and if you don't get the drop, who knows you might have the money to buy it by the time you're done (If it isn't stingy on you >.> )

1.4mil on Odin now. I've seen one drop from the pot BC, but I dont know about other sources.

Just hit 1 million on Gilgamesh, the last one sold four days ago and came with a price jump of 200k. It's getting ridiculous, I think anyone who gets a Raise III scroll is going to jump the price by at least 100k because the arse fell out of the supply barrel.

I'm seriously considering sending a message through Playonline asking what exactly happened to the drop rate and why.

It definately drops from Kirin and Zha'Da Adamanking.

I've killed both in the last 3 days and they each dropped it.

The R3 we got from Adamanking sold in literally 5 minutes, at 150k higher than the last sale (1.25M up from the previous 1.1M).

I thought the high level Sahagin behind the Door in Sea Grotto dropped spells, but that one is probably Raise 2 and/or ReRaise 3, not Raise 3.

How many high level WHM-Type NMs are there anyway?

Somepage just updated their bcnm lists to now inclue Eye of the Storm and The Scarlet King as 2 more BCNM battles that drop Raise 3.
